Experience a different digital lifestyle at PC Expo 2011 this November

Year-end PC Expo 2011 starts at Mid Valley Exhibition Centre in Kuala Lumpur, Nov 4 – 6, 2011

OCTOBER 20, 2011, KUALA LUMPUR – The upcoming year-end PC Expo 2011 will gauge consumer market reception to a digital lifestyle differentiated by tablets, handhelds and devices. The Expo is scheduled to start its first of several legs at Mid Valley Exhibition Centre or MVEC in Kuala Lumpur, November 4 – 6.

According EM Exhibitions (M) Sdn Bhd project director Jeslynn Wong Lee Chen, Expo visitors will notice an emphasis, particularly on tablets, handhelds and wireless broadband services.

“Based on observations at earlier Expos, it is certain the domestic tablet space is growing although its growth pace is open to interpretation,” she said, adding Expo visitors will benefit from wider choices with tablets like Apple iPad2, HTC Flyer, Lenovo IdeaPad Tablet K1, Motorola Xoom and Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1.

She said it will be interesting at the Expo to gauge consumers’ willingness in purchasing tablets and experience a different and perhaps better digital lifestyle. “It will also be noteworthy to get a sense of consumer’s buying power, keeping in mind the current challenging economic situation,” she said. PC Expo 2011 is created and organised by EM Exhibitions.

She remarked Malaysians have been exposed to a different kind of computing experience with tablets. “Many will not go back to the way things were. A digital lifestyle today inevitably includes tablets. And although smartphones and mobile notebooks remain on a consumer’s shopping list, their prominence appears to have been overtaken by tablets.”

In addition, she said the popularity of tablets and smartphones have helped raise wireless broadband adoption rates. There are 2.9 million wireless broadband subscriptions in Malaysia as at the end Q2 2011 or about 53.9 per cent of Malaysia’s total broadband subscriptions according to data recently released by Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission.

She said visitors to the Expo can take advantage of seasonal offers and year-end bargains from exhibitors, particularly those involved with tablets, wireless broadband services and mobile device. Expo visitors will benefit from numerous participating brands like Acer, Buffalo, Canon, D-Link, Digi, Fujitsu, Garmin, HP, HTC, Lenovo, Logitech, Nikon, P1, Papago!, Panasonic, Sensonic, Sony, Toshiba, Western Digital and UMobile.

The first leg of the Expo will be held at Mid Valley Exhibition Centre (MVEC) Hall 1, 2 & Atrium. “We anticipate consumer appetite for bargains and year-end offers, judging from the queries on our PC Expo Facebook (www.facebook.com/pcexpo),” she said. “Asides from having exhibitors geared to offer year-end bargains and seasonal promotions, we’ve added several treats for visitors.” These treats include special offers of RM10 for a 4GB Sandisk USB drive and RM139 for a 500GB Buffalo external hard disk.

Expo visitors can bid for popular consumer digital lifestyle devices at RM1 Auction sessions where prices start from RM1. “We are auctioning several items including Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1s, Samsung Galaxy SIIs, iPhone4s, iPad2s and others at the Expo.”

Visitors can also look forward to Happy Hour sessions and shop for an assortment of consumer digital lifestyle devices at low prices. “We are giving way new Apple iPhone 4s as prizes for PC Expo Facebook “Like & Win” contest. These are just a few of several other activities that we have lined up for visitors.”

Asides Kuala Lumpur, the Expo will be held in several venues including Kluang Mall in Kluang, November 18 to 20 and Alor Star Mall in Alor Setar, December 16 – 18. More information is available at http://www.pcexpo.com.my.
