Softline further expansion in South-East Asia: official opening in Malaysia

Softline - a leader in the field of software licensing, training and consulting in Russia - officially opened an office in Malaysia. This step is a logical extension of business development in South-East Asia after starting operations in Vietnam in 2009.

On November 16, 2011 the official presentation of Softline was held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Launch ceremony was attended by system integrators who comprise Softline reseller network, and organisations representing Malaysia major industries as financial, telecommunications, governmental bodies and others. The event was remarked with speeches of software manufacturers, outstanding in their field of work –BeyondTrust in privileged identity management, InfoWatch in data leakage prevention, and Softline own department of cloud computing.

The start in Malaysia is a weighted decision within an ambitious strategy of Softline aimed at winning the leading position in the markets outside CIS Russian speaking countries, where Softline already is a big name on IT market. Softline aim is to build long-term and mutually beneficial relationship with customers and vendors. Softline works with various clients, but focuses more on financial, telecommunications, manufacturing, oil & gas, healthcare and other industries which require Softline experience in deployment of complicated software solutions. Proposition of Softline to the Malaysian market is a complex approach to IT issues. In Malaysia company concentrates on sale of licensed software from leading international and Russian suppliers, with focus on security and cloud solutions. At the moment, there are 10 employees working at the local office and Softline plans to recruit 3 more in nearest months. Further plans for Malaysia include expansion of services provided to clients such as IT-consulting and technical support.Softline believes that the experience of professional software distributor would be demanded in Malaysia. “We are confident that Softline having a broad portfolio of solutions and gained international experience will qualify the market in Malaysia and bring value to customers on the local market”, - commented Mrs. Aliya Rakisheva, vice-president of Softline Group responsible for development in APAC region.
