Intel competition awards Yew Hong Tat a stay on a private island with family members

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, December 19, 2011 – Seven winners of the Intel® “Win an Island” promotion from across Asia will receive a one-in-a-lifetime opportunity to spend time on a visibly stunning, private island.

One of them is Yew Hong Tat, from Malaysia, who will spend 7 days on the exclusive Joyo Island in Indonesia with three friends; participating in their choice activities such as diving, water skiing and sailing or, very likely, just soaking up the sun and relaxing among the pristine palms and beautiful beaches.The grand prize winner Wong Shui Hsien from Singapore will however spend 28 days on the private Island.

The Island - Facebook Game
Accompanying this promotion, Intel created ‘The Island’ Facebook game that allowed participants to customize their own virtual island, with the help of the penguins from Dreamworks’ Madagascar movies.

Facebook users played as Skipper (leader), Rico (procurement master), Private (hard worker) or Kowalski (tactical genius) and build the coolest, smartest, most visibly stunning island. The best islands were awarded with a DVD set of Dreamworks’ Madagascar films, Kung Fu Panda or a summer fun beach pack complete with beach ball, frisbee, sunglasses and more.

Prize for Retail Sales People
Intel customers weren’t the only ones to win a private island escape. Retail salespeople in India, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam who sold an eligible system or processor during the promotion were also eligible to win a three night getaway on the private island of Pom Pom, Indonesia.
