KUALA LUMPUR, December 19, 2011 - Brother International Malaysia, a leader in home and business IT peripherals that focuses on the ‘Customer-First’ approach, launched two new multi-function centre (MFC) series spanning the large A3 series to the ultra-compact A4 series aimed at maximising users’ experience through its high quality and comprehensive print, scan, fax and copy functions with automatic duplex (double-sided printing capability), that guarantees reductions in paper usage for a greener organisation and environment as well as more cost savings and greater efficiency.

The ultra-compact in size but A4-printing feature-laden Brother colour inkjet multi-function centres: the MFC-J430W, MFC-J625DW and MFC-J825DW come with the convenience of connecting, printing and sharing information across popular internet and social networking sites via the latest Cloud Printing function.

Brother has introduced the new “Web Connect” function for the very first time in these selected models that enable users to connect to various online storage services like Picasa and Flickr for direct printing via these MFCs. iPrint&Scan App – Print from Your Apple or Android Mobile Device Only from Brother!

Print documents or photos from your Apple or Android mobile devices via Brother’s very own iPrint&Scan application that connects wirelessly to the machine to print or share images directly without downloading to a computer. Furthermore, users can also have the flexibility to print their photos directly from their Pictbridge-enabled camera, media cards or USB device with the Direct Photo Print function. With the new CD and DVD label printing feature, users can also create labels quickly to organise their disc collections.

Print, scan, fax and copy in A3 with Brother

For SoHos and SMBs, Brother has introduced a new series of full A3 colour inkjet MFCs. Like its predecessors, which were the first in the world to have complete A3 functions, users can continue to expect these fresh models to not only print, but also scan, fax and copy in A3. The all-round competencies of Brother’s full A3 colour inkjet MFCs make them the ultimate choice for professionals, especially those in the engineering, architecture, design and creative sectors; enabling them to print elaborate floor plans, charts and graphs while saving precious office space and the costs of purchasing different machines for each individual task.

3D mobile Augmented Reality (AR) app by Brother

Brother also introduced its 3D mobile Augmented Reality (AR) application, the first digital printing company to do develop and offer such an application for users of selected Brother machines.

The new app, downloadable onto any iPhone or iPad device, enables users to experience each of the key features of Brother’s colour inkjet machines, the MFC-J430W, MFC-J625DW, MFC-725DW (not available in Malaysia) and MFC-J825DW. By installing the free “Brother AR” app, people can take a pix of the product from printed materials such as advertisements or brochures and get to view the full capabilities as a 3D projection from their iPhone or iPad.

According to Mr. Otsuka, the introduction of AR technology will help customers understand the main features of Brother’s MFCs in a more interactive format.

“In our line of business, it is not just important to be innovative with our product offerings but to be creative with the means we market them to consumers. Customers today are much more technologically savvy and are more receptive to information, even while they are on the go. With this app, customers can not only get a three-dimensional and 360 degree view of the product but watch it perform various functions such as print and scan with just a few taps, taking the customer experience to a whole new level,” said Mr. Otsuka.

The brand also took the opportunity to fete members of the local media for their continuous support with a fun-filled media appreciation party that included a lavish spread, thank you gifts and lucky draws.

To promote printing without the clutter of wires, all models in this new series come with wireless capabilities, enabling the MFC to be shared by multiple users in the home or office.

Users can now look forward to saving up to 50 percent in paper cost with Brother’s automatic double-sided printing, and save time with the Automatic Document Feeder which allows them to scan, copy and fax multiple pages at one time. The machines are also efficient with high ISO printing speed of up to 12ppm (pages per minute) in black & white, and 10ppm in colour, so users will not be kept waiting for their documents.

Boasting added stylish accents, Brother has incorporated attractive motifs on MFC-J825DW – providing users a pleasing surprise, adding pizzazz to the workplace. With its intuitive interface, users will also have easy access to many functions via the wide colour LCD touchscreen of up to 3.3”.

The new series come with two options of ink cartridges – standard-yield or high-yield cartridges to meet different consumer printing needs. To reduce printing costs, consumers can choose to use the high-yield ink cartridges which can deliver up to 600 pages of black and 600 pages of colour prints.

Each full A3 colour inkjet MFC is equipped with high ISO printing speed of 12/10 ppm, a first for Brother in adopting the ISO print standard. The additional 250-sheet built-in paper tray in the MFC-J6910DW, along with the 35-sheet Automatic Document Feeder available in all three models, help users to be more time-efficient as they eliminate the need for frequent paper replenishment.

Brother’s Automatic Double-sided printing is also available in this latest series of full A3 colour inkjet MFCs. Recognizing the need for businesses to manage overheads carefully, the Automatic Double-sided Printing not only saves time from manual feeding, it reduces paper usage by 50 per cent.

While Brother’s high-yield ink cartridges have been highly popular among offices for its cost effectiveness with large print volumes, Brother has pushed past boundaries and took a step further with the super high-yield ink cartridges, which makes printing even more affordable. The new monochrome ink cartridge promises to boost 600 printable pages to an amazing 2,400 printable pages. With lower consumption of cartridges, Brother helps you to be more environmentally friendly while keeping expenditures low.
