PC Expo 2012 to help boosts digital lifestyle at Batu Pahat

PC Expo 2012 continues this week at Batu Pahat Mall in Batu Pahat, Johor, March 2 – 4, 2012.

FEBRUARY 29, 2012, KUALA LUMPUR – The second leg of PC Expo 2012 continues this week at Batu Pahat Mall (BP Mall), the largest shopping mall at Batu Pahat in Johor. According EM Exhibitions (M) Sdn Bhd project director Jeslynn Wong Lee Chen, the Expo this week will involve numerous products, brands and services to answer growing demands and help boost digital lifestyle in Batu Pahat.

Low-end smartphones, ultrabooks and tablet computing devices appear to be in great demand, observed Wong. “Visitors to the Expo seeking cheaper alternatives can shop for lower-end smartphones and sign up a mobile data plan that suits their lifestyle. We can imagine mobile data usage growing at a faster pace.”

She said ultrabooks and tablet computing devices are still hot items at the Expo. “There is now more variety of tablets compared to 2010 and we expect consumer demand to continue flourishing. Many consumers eagerly await the new Apple iPad 3. Its imminent launch may see price adjustments for other makes of tablets and benefit consumers,” she said, adding a new iPad 3 has been slated as the top prize for PC Expo 2012 Like&Win contest. PC Expo is organised by EM Exhibitions.

The Expo this week will involve a variety of exhibitors, like Acer Sales and Services Sdn Bhd, MCL Berhad, Kao Sheng Distribution Sdn Bhd, Komputer Abadi Sdn Bhd, Navotech Technology Sdn Bhd, Thunder Match Technology Sdn Bhd and PIXUS Sdn Bhd. Local digital lifestyle retailers like BP Incomp Technology Sdn Bhd and Tong Xing Technology & Services Sdn Bhd are making their presence felt.

Asides devices, she observed there has been increasing demands from consumers for greater flexibility and lower voice and data subscription rates. The Expo, which also features Maxis Mobile Services Sdn Bhd, Packet One Networks (M) Sdn Bhd, Telekom Malaysia Bhd and YTL Communications Sdn Bhd, will offers consumers convenience and ability to compare rates, offers and easy payment plans. “Consumers are shopping for an end-to-end solution, from device, rates and after-sales services, that are economically sensible,” she said.

Visitors at the Expo can also participate in several activities like “Lucky Draw” and “Register&Win”. Lucky Draw prizes include Apple iPhone 4S, Samsung Galaxy Note and ASUS Transformer Prime while prizes for Register&Win include RM200 and RM100 PC EXPO 2012 Gift Vouchers. “Early bird visitors enjoy special offers like RM10 for a 4GB Kingston USB drive and RM179 for a Buffalo 500GB hard disk. We are also rewarding consumers who purchase a notebook or laptop PC with a complimentary 2GB DDR RAM,” she explained.

The next leg will see the Expo moving south and coincide with the upcoming school holidays. Next week, the Expo will be held March 9 to 11 at Persada Johor International Convention Centre in Johor Bahru. “We have an assortment of exciting activities to involve youths and refresh their digital lifestyle outlook to aid the development of our country.”

The Expo is scheduled to continue its fourth leg March 30 to April 1 at Penang International Sports Arena (PISA) in Penang and the following leg, April 6 to 8, at Alor Star Mall in Alor Star.
