Trend Micro Continues to Secure Your Journey to the Cloud via CLOUDSEC2012

Regional summit showcases latest findings in the cloud landscape worldwide

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – April 26, 2012 – Trend Micro Incorporated (TYO: 4704;TSE: 4704), a global cloud security leader, today revealed latest findings on the cloud landscape and its cloud strategy for 2012 at the CLOUDSEC2012 Regional Summit Malaysia.

The dynamic business landscape has put the security industry at crossroads, facing a complicated horizon that covers an escalation of targeted attacks against companies, alongside exponential growth in the use of unsecured personal mobile devices and cloud implementations. In a CXO survey with 1,300 IT decision makers from Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand. Trend Micro found 42.2% enterprises to have installed server virtualization technologies and over 57.2% expressing concern over virtualization in the data centre.

Underlying the fact of the transformation and the current findings, Trend Micro strives to protect, educate and provide the best security management and solutions for users. Unveiling a bolder approach to security that is needed within this new environment, Trend Micro also pledges to secure businesses in their transition into the cloud by sharing its four pronged security framework that ensures a holistic cloud protection.

1. Security at the Cloud Infrastructure level: For enterprises, governments and telcos building a cloud datacenter, Trend Micro’s TM Deep Security represents a new generation of server security that delivers maximum protection for virtual machines with highest virtualization ROI. Deep Security offers a unique agent-less, all-in-one approach to protect virtual machines at the hypervisor level, from inappropriate access, malwares attacks, and vulnerability exploits, while meeting regulatory compliances.

2. Security at the Cloud data level: For enterprises and governments concerned about data privacy and protection in the cloud, TrendMicro’s TM SecureCloud represents a new generation of cloud data encryption that allows them to protect private date in the public cloud. Trend Micro’s SecureCloud is today the only platform that offers a policy-based key management in the cloud or on-premise. This ensures that only the data owner can have access to the data - while at rest, in motion or in use. Deep Security 8.0 and SecureCloud 2.0 work together to create a context-aware framework that responds to the constantly evolving state of the dynamic datacenter.

3. Security at cloud device level: The trend toward supporting corporate applications on employee-owned notebooks and smart phones is already under way in many organizations. For enterprises and governments facing the challenges of consumerization of IT – proliferation of personal mobile devices connecting to corporate network, data, and cloud services is often seen as a security challenge. Mobile Security is an integrated mobile device security management platform from Trend Micro that provides visibility, security and control over these devices.

4. Security of Cloud Applications: Deep Security protects mission-critical cloud applications and data from breaches and business disruptions without expensive emergency patching. The solution provides increased visibility and control over cloud applications. This is provided through application control rules that identify malicious software accessing the network. This shields known and unknown vulnerabilities in cloud applications and assists compliance (PCI DSS) to protect cloud applications and the data they process.

Trend Micro™ Smart Protection Network™ is specially designed to address the current trends in the cloud landscape for an even secure and safer cloud computing experience for consumers. The transformation from physical to virtual and cloud environments has exposed many organizations to open risks and threats. This underlines the need for a more effective security management solution to ensure organizations are protected at all times.

The new security model that is powered by the Trend Micro™ Smart Protection Network™ delivers more adaptive and contextually-aware security that protects data whether on a device or server; at home or on the road; in physical, virtual or cloud environments and provides the intelligent integration and coordination required to manage, control and defend that data in real time.
