MALAYSIAN-BORN ENTREPRENEUR, JOEL NEOH TO OVERLOOK OPERATIONS FOR GROUPON IN SOUTHEAST ASIA AND INDIA

PETALING JAYA, 6 JULY 2012 - Groupon, Inc. (GRPN) officially announced the appointment of Joel Neoh as the Vice President and General Manager for Southeast Asia. Neoh will lead the company’s offices in India, Singapore and Thailand while continue assuming his role as the Chief Executive Officer of Groupon Malaysia.

In his new role, Neoh will be responsible for the overall management to further enhance the Groupon experience for consumers and business partners in the respective countries. His key focus areas would also include engaging stakeholders in diverse levels and identifying relevant channels to further enhance Groupon’s brand value in India and the Southeast Asia countries.

"In just 3 years, Groupon has grown into a daily habit among consumers across 48 countries around the world with over 36 million active customers worldwide. I am excited to lend a hand to further drive growth within the region given that Asia is one of the major markets for Groupon,” Neoh commented.

The Malaysian-born, achieved his first success when he co-founded a million dollar student agency during his undergraduate years. He then founded Youth Asia and built it into an award winning group of companies that invests in launching and growing innovative companies in the internet industry. Joel started Groupsmore, a popular local e-commerce platform in 2010, which was acquired by Groupon, Inc. [GRPN], the world's fastest growing company ever (noted by Forbes). His passion to integrate social good with e-commerce has resulted in successful partnerships with the United Nation’s World Food Programme (WFP) and UNICEF, raising USD$30,000 and USD$50,000 respectively within days.
