Intel offers Malaysian students a glimpse into the future


Intel Malaysia opens up Sponsors of Tomorrow Expo to the public

GEORGE TOWN, September 6, 2012 – Intel Malaysia recently opened its doors for its Sponsors of Tomorrow technology exhibition featuring Intel’s latest products and designs for the future. The Sponsors of Tomorrow Expo travels the world visiting all Intel sites including those in Ireland, Beijing and Vietnam. Students and teachers from SMK Hamid Khan, SMK (P) Methodist Pulau Pinang, SMK Haji Zainul Abidin, SMK Taman Kenari and SMK Taman Jelutong in Penang and Kulim attended the showcase featuring live demonstrations and hands-on interactivity with the various displays.


Some of the technology at the exhibit includes an augmented reality demonstration where users can drive their own formula one racing car, 3-D sports activities such as surfing and snowboarding, touchscreen technology and concept tablets, Ultrabook™, smartphones and gaming technology of the future.

Intel’s leadership in innovation has led to the development of such game-changing technologies including the introduction of the Ultrabook™ as a new category in personal computing as well as the recently launched 3rd Generation Intel® Core™processor family, manufactured on the 22nm 3-D Tri-Gate Transistor Technology.
“This has been a very interesting experience for the students and we had a lot of fun interacting with the many amazing technologies Intel is currently developing including the 3-D entertainment systems. Furthermore, we were particularly impressed by the fact that there are teams in Intel Malaysia which have contributed to the design and development of these gadgets. I think this is a great initiative by Intel and hope that it will help inspire our students to take an interest in science and technology.” said Dr. Hjh.
