SoftLayer’s Chief Strategy Officer to share why partnerships are important for non-traditional hosting companies entering the cloud services market
SINGAPORE, September 6, 2012 – Parallels (www.parallels.com), the hosting and cloud services enablement leader, today announced that SoftLayer Technologies will participate as the Diamond Sponsor at Parallels Summit 2012 APAC, the annual gathering of the region’s leading cloud services providers and industry visionaries. Parallels Summit 2012 APAC attendees will hear from SoftLayer on the latest trends and strategies at a keynote address on partnerships and business growth in the area of cloud services delivery.
Since 2005, SoftLayer has been in a global partnership with Parallels, offering joint services to help companies succeed in the cloud. As a platinum partner, SoftLayer is one of the largest cloud services providers collaborating with Parallels. Today SoftLayer has more than 100,000 servers under management and offers Parallels Plesk Panel as an option on every server; helping to make it one of the most widely distributed control panels in the industry.
“SoftLayer has been a strategic partner of Parallels, working closely with us to help service providers grow and profit as small and medium businesses in Asia Pacific increasingly move to the cloud for their IT needs,” said David Dzienciol, Regional Vice President and General Manager, Parallels in Asia Pacific. “We are confident Summit attendees will benefit from hearing SoftLayer’s point of view on how they can maximise the benefits for their company within the current cloud services environment.”
During his keynote on September 21 at 2.40 pm, SoftLayer’s Chief Strategy Officer, George Karidis will address how non-traditional hosters such as telecommunications companies, cable companies and value-added resellers need to adopt a strategic approach to finding the right partners as they enter the rapidly growing cloud services market to leverage opportunities.
“How cloud service providers go to market has changed more in the past year than in the previous six. That’s why SoftLayer is sharing its own approach to leveraging partners to drive business growth at Parallels Summit 2012 APAC,” said George Karidis, Chief Strategy Officer, SoftLayer Technologies. “We are also offering Summit attendees the right information for success by sharing how companies need to adopt a strategic approach and engage the right partners to leverage opportunities and drive business growth.”
