Kuala Lumpur, 24 September 2012 – JobStreet.com Malaysia Career and Training Fair (MCTF), the leading career event of the year, is back with over 120 top companies offering thousands of jobs. Vacancies offered ranged from senior level to fresh graduate jobs. Participating companies included top private companies, multinational companies and government-linked companies.
Organized by AIC Exhibitions and JobStreet.com, the 14th JobStreet.com MCTF was held from 21 September to 23 September at the Mid Valley Exhibition Centre. The career fair was launched by the Higher Education Minister, Yang Berhormat Dato’ Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin.
“Our objective is to deliver top Malaysian talents to the participating employers, while ensuring jobseekers understand that continuing education is an important part of keeping our skills and knowledge level at par with the best in the world,” said Ryan Ooi, Operations Director of AIC Exhibitions.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Chook Yuh Yng, Country Manager of JobStreet.com said, “According to the JobStreet.com Job Outlook Report in the third quarter of 2012, 35% of our respondents felt that the general job outlook would be slightly worse or much worse than the previous quarter. Nevertheless, we are still seeing a healthy number of jobs posted on our website with over 20,000 jobs available daily”.
JobStreet.com has also been working closely with the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) and TalentCorp to fill in the current talent shortage in Malaysia. One of the initiatives is the Structured Internship Program supported by JobStreet.com to make internship experience for Malaysian graduates relevant to the industries.
In addition, as part of the latest testimonial campaign to get more jobseekers for employers, JobStreet.com has recently launched the “I found mine” Photo & Video Contest via social media
and smart phones. Through sharing their ideal jobs in the contest, JobStreet.com aims to drive the young talent in Malaysia to seek for opportunities and land an ideal career that they are passionate in.

The fair offered on-the-spot interviews, hiring evaluations as well as resume clinics and career talks to help jobseekers brush up on their job hunting skills.
