IDC appoints Jim Sailor as Admiral of ASEAN Region

Kuala Lumpur, October 18, 2012 – IDC Asia/Pacific today announced the appointment of Jim Sailor as its General Manager for the ASEAN Region.

With nearly 20 years of senior management experience in Asia, primarily in market research, Sailor has worked across a range of industries focusing on consumer, technology, automotive and healthcare sectors.

His vast experience includes both syndicated and survey research, with management and development responsibilities in customised research, media measurement/tracking and consumer panels.

He spent 17 years at Taylor Nelson Sofres where his most recent position was as Head of Greater China as well as a member of the board of directors for Asia, Latin America and the Middle East/Africa.

Sailor will now be responsible for spearheading the management of IDC’s business in Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam and the Philippines, as well as further establishing its business in newly emerging markets such as Myanmar and Cambodia.

Based in Kuala Lumpur, the Mandarin speaking American will work closely with IDC’s clients and its global team of analysts and consultants to provide thought leadership and advisory services.

Sailor is an honours graduate from the University of Wisconsin - Madison where he double-majored in Marketing and East Asian Studies with a focus on International Business.
