Kuala Lumpur, 29 October 2012.  Malaysia’s leading integrated communications service provider, Maxis Berhad (Maxis), continues to excite the market, giving customers more value for money, convenience and choice with the launch of its new and improved Maxis Home Wireless Internet and Maxis Wireless Broadband plans. Whether at home or on-the-go, customers have the option to choose packages and devices to suit their needs and lifestyles. From as low as RM59 a month for Home Wireless Internet, or RM48 a month for Wireless Broadband, customers can enjoy fast, affordable and reliable Internet, backed by the fastest and widest high speed 3G network with over 80% high speed 3G coverage across the country.

Furthermore, there is no imposed speed limit on our new Wireless Broadband plans so consumers can enjoy the best speeds based on modem and network capability.”

Maxis Postpaid customers will enjoy ease of payment with a single bill, integrated with their Maxis Postpaid Mobile service, for both the Home Wireless Internet and Wireless Broadband services. Those subscribing to the 28GB and 48GB packages will get to enjoy additional RM10 discount on their monthly fee for these packages. “We are pleased to be bringing additional value and convenience to our Postpaid customers as the leading integrated operator in Malaysia,” enthused Mark.

Maxis Home Wireless Internet 
Families mainly outside the fibre coverage footprint, students in shared accommodation or tenants who require plug-and-play home internet will benefit most from the Maxis Home Wireless Internet proposition. As previously, Maxis offers allocated quota for two different time periods: 8 am to 2 am and 2 am to 8 am. The latter is provided especially for those customers who do large downloads or use bandwidth heavy applications overnight. These great value-for-money plans include the 3GB plan at RM59 per month, the 8GB plan at RM79 per month, the 20GB plan at RM99 per month, the 28GB plan at RM139 per month and the 48GB plan at RM169 per month. The 8GB and 28GB packages are newly introduced in order to provide more affordable higher quota plans to consumers.

Customers who sign up for these plans also get to enjoy a free WiFi modem and a cordless DECT phone, as well as free allocated minutes to fixed and mobile numbers nationwide, from 100 minutes to 300 minutes depending on the package.

Subsequent calls are charged at only 10 sen/min for calls nationwide.

Maxis Wireless Broadband
Targeted at students, young executives and professionals who need internet access when they are out and about, as well as at home; for their work, social networking and entertainment needs, Maxis has it all in one with the Maxis Wireless Broadband proposition. Encouraged by the demand and consumer reception for its late night quotas for the Home Wireless Internet plans, Maxis is now introducing this feature with additional 2am to 8am internet quota for its improved Maxis Wireless Broadband plans as well.

The Wireless Broadband packages now offer the same data plans as the revised Home Wireless Internet packages. These affordable and great value for money plans include the 3GB plan at RM48 per month, the 8GB plan at RM68 per month, the 20GB plan at RM88 per month, the 28GB plan at RM128 per month and the 48GB plan at RM158 per month.

While the entry level package at RM48 comes with a free 7.2 Mbps USB dongle, customers who subscribe to the RM68 plan and above will get to choose from a range of free high performance modems that best match their lifestyle needs; 21Mbps PortaFi modem or a 21Mbps MiFi modem to connect multiple devices, or a 42Mbps USB modem.

The new Wireless Broadband plans offer even more value and convenience with free value added services. All new Wireless Broadband plans come with free 5GB personal cloud storage service with Maxis Loker. Customers who subscribe to the RM68 plan and above will enjoy an additional free 2GB quota per month from over 2,300 Maxis WiFi Hotspots across the country. Maxis plans to increase this number to over 8,000 in early 2013. In addition, customers who sign up for the RM128 and RM158 plans will be entitled to unlimited Facebook usage.

Both Home Wireless Internet and Wireless Broadband customers can continue to access the internet even after they have exceeded their allocated quota. However, upon finishing the allocated monthly quota, customers will not be able to access the internet at their regular speeds. To continue enjoying regular speeds, customers have the option to top-up their quota through MyAccount Portal which can be accessed on mylaunchpad.com.my. The additional quota is valid for 30 days upon purchase.
