KUALA LUMPUR, 1 November 2012 – Canon today announced the launch of five large format multifunction printer (MFP) imaging solutions that offer both fast and effective large format scanning, copying and printing. Featuring its award-winning imagePROGRAF (iPF) series – the iPF750, iPF760, iPF765, iPF815 and iPF825, the new MFP solutions are configured to meet the unique needs of professionals in industries ranging from architecture, engineering and construction to government, education and retail.

The versatile solutions offer fast, high quality printing with precise 4pl ink droplet for high image clarity, detail and resolution of 2,400 x 1,200 dots-per-inches (dpi). Each imagePROGRAF MFP imaging solution includes a CiC40 color scanner with 40-inch scan width and true 600 dpi optical resolution, scanning at speeds up to 10 inches per second with Contact Image Sensor technology. Equipped up to 250 GB of printer hard disk drive capacity, the MFP imaging solutions also deliver greater efficiency by allowing users to directly scan, share and save the files via network and email.

Featuring Canon’s SmartWorks MFP software, the imagePROGRAF MFP imaging solutions increase workflow efficiency by allowing both individual and batch scanning of documents in JPG, TIFF or PDF file formats. Users can also enjoy greater ease-of-use by pre-setting scan and print configurations for a wide range of document types, including colour, grey and black-and-white graphics and technical line documents. Other user-friendly and time-saving features that are accessible via the SmartWorks MFP intuitive interface include:
• Preview Editing allows users to view and edit scanned documents before saving to file, email or print
• Background Removal uses three levels of background filters to improve scan or copy quality for different original types by cleaning the background
• Scanning Speed Adjustment allows users to optimise the speed for each scan job

In addition to a large-format scanner, five-colour printer and SmartWorks MFP software, each of the complete workflow solutions includes a reprographic stand and a large touch-screen monitor for greater ease of use. The ENERGY STAR certified imagePROGRAF MFP imaging solutions also deliver energy and cost savings for users. Each solution consumes 40W or less in scan operations and 190W or less in print operations , and a mere 2.2W and 6W respectively when placed on standby. Users can also minimise the cost per print when producing draft prints on selected media by activating the Economy Print Mode which regulates ink use.
