WOWLOUD Now Available on BlackBerry

KUALA LUMPUR, 5 February 2013 - MNC Wireless Berhad (“MNC”), a mobile and digital solutions provider today announced the release of WOWLOUD, Malaysia’s first cloud music streaming service on BlackBerry World, the newly rebranded store for BlackBerry. The WOWLOUD music app makes it easy for BlackBerry users to access millions of songs on the go anytime, anywhere. Users will be able to search and instantly stream their favourite music without the hassle of downloading and storing music onto their devices.

The availability of WOWLOUD is part of the move by BlackBerry to expand its focus on its store to include a wider selection of media based applications such as video and music players. The WOWLOUD app is currently only accessible through the new BlackBerry 10, the latest mobile operating platform recently launched by BlackBerry globally. The new BlackBerry Z10 and BlackBerry Q10 devices that support the new operating system is expected to be available in Malaysia in the coming months.

Sasha Lee, Acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of MNC said, “We at MNC Wireless are always working hard to make WOWLOUD available on as many devices as possible and the launch of WOWLOUD on BlackBerry is certainly a milestone for us. Although BlackBerry is predominately viewed as an enterprise device, the move to include rich media content such as music will definitely appeal to the regular consumers. We look forward to the arrival of BlackBerry 10 smartphones to the Malaysia shore soon.”

Besides searching and listening to music on-the-go, music lovers using the new BlackBerry 10 smartphones will soon enjoy the other value added features on WOWLOUD where users can custom-create their own playlists, subscribe to other users playlists and also share music with friends on social networks such as Facebook, Google+, Twitter and even on BlackBerry’s very own proprietary instant messenger app, BlackBerry Messenger (BBM).

“User experience has always been one of our top priorities in developing WOWLOUD. We want to focus on providing a personalized experience for our BlackBerry users when they access WOWLOUD on their smartphone. Hence, we have integrated some BlackBerry 10 elements into the app such as the Flow and Peek feature allowing WOWLOUD to perform seamlessly on the device”, said Chief Technology Officer of MNC Wireless Berhad, Hooi Hing Chuan.

WOWLOUD offers a massive catalogue of millions of licensed tracks from all major and independent labels that are available on PC and mobile devices. The app is already available on the iPhone and Android devices. The WOWLOUD app for Blackberry 10 is free to download on the BlackBerry World. After downloading the App, users can subscribe to the WOWLOUD Premium Plus account at www.wowloud.com. Priced at RM14.90 per month, users can immediately activate their Premium Plus account upon subscription and start streaming unlimited music on WOWLOUD.

Apart from WOWLOUD Premium Plus, users can also try out the limited access music streaming online with WOWLOUD Free version that is compatible to both Mac OS and Windows XP OS and above. Due to the different music distribution rights that are required for each country, WOWLOUD® is currently available to users in Malaysia only.
