HyppTV creates history being the first Malaysian IPTV company to win the award

Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM), through its IPTV service – HyppTV – created history by being the first Malaysian IPTV company to win an award at the prestigious TV Connect Industry Awards; (previously known as IP&TV Industry awards) in Mayfair, London recently.

Accepting the award on behalf of TM was Jeremy Kung, Executive Vice President, New Media, TM.

Commenting on HyppTV’s latest achievement, Jeremy said, “This recognition is truly a momentous occasion for us by becoming the first Malaysian IPTV service to win an award at the prestigious TV Connects Industry award. What a night for HyppTV! In addition, this conferment came at the perfect time when we just celebrated UniFi’s 3rd Anniversary recently last month.”

Receiving this international recognition even though we are relatively ‘young’ in the arena, definitely drives us to further intensify our efforts towards providing our subscribers with the best quality content offerings,” he added.

In last year’s IP&TV Industry Awards 2012, HyppTV came second best in the Best Service Growth Achievement category, going ahead against companies such as AT&T U-Verse TV, BT Vision and ZTE Corporation’s Jiangsu Telecom ITV. This time around, HyppTV won against the likes of Oman Telecommunications Company Omantel TV service and Slovenia’s TS Media.

To date, HyppTV is Malaysia’s fastest growing IPTV service, offering its customers 107 channels with 20 channels in High Definition (HD) - consisting of 72 premium linear channels, 15 Video-On-Demand (VOD) genres and 20 interactive channels. In its efforts to enhance subscribers’ viewing experience, starting 26 March 2013, HyppTV has realigned its channel numberings making it easier for the viewers to browse HyppTV channels based on its genre clusters.

HyppTV, Malaysia’s fastest growing IPTV service is powered by TM high speed broadband service, UniFi which is available to viewers come rain or shine through its residential UniFi packages, called VIP package, a triple-play offering that combines voice, video and data.
