30 May 2013 – LG Electronics (LG) today announced the addition of four fun titles to Game World, the company’s comprehensive Smart TV game store. The family-friendly selection includes Where's My Water?, Catapult King, Mini Motor Racing and Air Attack. Optimized for LG’s CINEMA 3D Smart TVs, each game is playable using the versatile and gesture-sensing Magic Remote. FPR 3D technology and the Dual Play feature further add to the truly magical experience of gaming on LG’s Smart TV platform.

“These new titles are part of our commitment to offering LG Smart TV owners the most diverse range of entertainment possible and engage users in new and exciting ways,” said Richard Choi, senior vice president of the Smart Business Center at LG Electronics. “The games look fantastic thanks to the larger screen sizes and exceptional picture quality provided by our CINEMA 3D Smart TVs and the intuitive Magic Remote makes it easy for players of all ages to enjoy an action-packed gaming experience.”

Mini Motor Racing
Mini Motor Racing is a fun auto racing game that lets players hit the gas as they speed their way around more than 40 unique tracks. Developed by The Binary Mill and powered by Unity’s advanced graphics engine, this thrilling game supports LG’s immersive 3D and Dual Play features. Dual Play uses LG’s FPR 3D technology to enable each player to simultaneously view a different, full-screen image eliminating the need for split-screens when players go head-to-head. This racing game will be available end of May.

Catapult King
In Catapult King, the player operates a virtual catapult that can be controlled using the gesture function of the Magic Remote. In this physics-based game, players must knock down enemy soldiers in a bid to rescue a captive princess. With more than 60 expertly designed levels, Catapult King is a challenging yet rewarding game that’s sure to amuse and delight CINEMA 3D Smart TV owners. The game will be available early June.

Where’s My Water?

Air Attack
Produced by Art in Games, the award-winning Air Attack allows gamers to participate in a number of daring air raids as they take on the role of an ace military pilot. Using the motion-sensitive Magic Remote, players can out-maneuver and out-gun the enemy in both 2D and 3D. LG SHOWCASES COMPLETE 3D ECOSYSTEM AT IFA 2011

BERLIN, Sep. 6, 2011 – Under the theme, “DO IT ALL IN 3D”, LG Electronics (LG) showcased the outer limits of 3D technology at IFA 2011 through its line-up of CINEMA 3D Smart Total Solutions which includes TVs, monitors, projectors, notebooks, home theatre systems and most recently, a Smartphone.

Over the past year, LG has knocked down a number of barriers facing popular adoption of 3D devices and contents. Foremost among them has been the quality of 3D display which has been markedly improved. In turn, LG’s CINEMA 3D TVs are “Flicker-Free” certified by European quality assurance agencies TÜV and Intertek, while 3D monitors have been enhanced for wide-angle viewing and bezel size reduced to give consumers maximum viewing space. Equally important, LG continues to offer the lightweight and battery-free 3D glasses which can be used with every 3D product from LG.

Providing the perfect audio for LG’s 3D range is an all-new CINEMA 3D Sound home theatre system with a 9.1 speaker system that creates the closest thing to the audio power of movie theatres or live concerts. Upright 3D Speakers further enrich the audio by pumping sound upward, while a 360-degree reflector inside each of the speakers reflects sound in all directions.

The DO IT ALL IN 3D showcase also featured a glasses-free 3D mobile device - the Optimus 3D Smartphone. The Optimus 3D enables users to view, create, edit and share 3D content whenever and wherever they may be. The Optimus 3D is equipped with LG’s proprietary 3D Game Converter, allowing users to convert their existing 2D games into 3D for an optimal gaming environment.

All of LG’s 3D products were featured in three sections in the DO IT ALL IN 3D showcase. In the “Create in 3D” section, visitors were able to record their own 3D video with the LG Optimus 3D Smartphone then upload it onto YouTube’s dedicated 3D channel. The “Share and Save in 3D” section had on display an array of exclusive 3D content and highlighted how easy it is to share 3D content with other devices via HDMI and DLNA (Digital Living Network Alliance). Lastly, the “Enjoy in 3D” section treated visitors to the thrills of 3D gaming on various LG 3D products, with immersive 3D games developed in collaboration with the leading mobile games company, Gameloft.

LG’s participation in IFA 2011 underscores the company’s efforts to distance itself from its competitors as the 3D industry’s undisputed leader. LG intends to continue its aggressive push further into the 3D environment with more advanced R&D and value-adding strategic partnerships.

IBM launches PowerUp, a new free 3D multiplayer virtual science game for the classroom

Petaling Jaya, 22 April 2008 - IBM recently launched a free multiplayer online game, PowerUp (http://www.powerupthegame.org/), challenging teenagers to help save the planet "Helios" from ecological disaster. The game is part of IBM's TryScience initiative. The game, which can be played alone or together, features a planet in near ecological ruin where three exciting missions for solar, wind and water power must be solved before sandstorms, floods or SmogGobs thwart the rescue.
IBM devised the 3D virtual game to engage kids and educators in engineering, energy, and diversity awareness. Online video gaming is on the rise, with kids spending greater amounts of time online in fantasy play. PowerUp aims to use kids’ interest in fantasy virtual worlds to encourage them to learn about engineering principles by riding over rugged mountains in buggies to build solar towers or searching through grim junk yards to repair wind turbines. They will also learn about energy conservation by the choices they make in completing their missions. The game also features non-player characters that represent a diverse cross section of the population, to be role models to encourage every young person to consider a career in engineering and they act as guides for the game.IBM innovators applied their knowledge in 3D and virtual worlds to develop the game in about 16 months. Nearly 200 teens in the Connecticut Innovation Academy served as advisors to IBM researchers during the game development. The TryScience team from the New York Hall of Science worked with The Tech Museum in San Jose, California and the Bakken Museum in Minneapolis, Minnesota on the activities and game content.
"IBM recognizes that the time has come for an integrated, smart systems approach to solving energy and environmental issues. It has a longstanding commitment to environmental stewardship that goes back to its first corporate environmental policy established in 1971," said Eric Wong, Marketing Director for IBM Malaysia.
