U Mobile and BCARD Sent Three Winners to Watch Cardiff City FC vs Manchester United Live

Kuala Lumpur, 4 December 2013 – It was a dream come true for three lads as their lifelong desire to watch a live Barclays Premier League (BPL) football tournament finally came true. Two winners of U Mobile’s ‘Road to Cardiff’ campaign and one from BCARD’s ‘Swipe Your Way to Cardiff’ contest were flown to Cardiff to watch Cardiff City Football Club take on BPL football giant – Manchester United.

‘Ecstatic’ and ‘overjoyed’ were some of the terms used to describe their feelings when asked about their response upon receiving the good news. The winners were treated with an all-expense paid trip to Cardiff to watch the football match and sight-seeing around the capital of Wales.

“I am so thrilled with the fact that I have won as I get to fly to the UK to watch a live football match for the first time in my life. The match between Cardiff City and Manchester United was so exciting and I am so thankful to U Mobile for realizing my dream. The 34 year-old Penangnite flew to Cardiff with his brother-in-law to catch the live match between Cardiff City and Manchester United.

Apart from Tan Sin Hong, Ipoh native Lee Chian Hong also aced the contest and emerged as one of the top two winners, giving the opportunity to fly to Cardiff for the same football tournament.

Organized in conjunction with U Mobile’s role as Cardiff City Football Club’s Official Malaysian Telecommunications Partner, prepaid subscribers stood a chance to win the grand prize by simply topping up RM30 or more, and answering a series of questions on Cardiff City and football-related questions.

Max Chin Kok Wai, 27, Head of Marketing at UOA, also described his win as a dream-come-true as he had been fantasizing to watch the live match between Cardiff City and Manchester United.

In BCARDs “Swipe Your Way To Cardiff” contest, Chin, who got his BCARD at a Chatime outlet, swiped his BCARD multiple times at various merchant outlets that en-routed him to the United Kingdom in an all expensed paid trip.

BCARD organized a 6-week contest which ran from 16th September to 25th October 2013, which encouraged users to swipe in a least three different merchants at over 800 participating outlets nationwide, vying for the opportunity to win an all-expense paid trip for two to Cardiff.
