KUALA LUMPUR, 29 October 2013– SEEBURGER, a global leading business integration and enterprise class Managed File Transfer (MFT) solutions provider, today announces its strategic alliance with CrimsonLogic eTrade Services Pte. Ltd. (‘CrimsonLogic’), a leading provider of trade and logistics solutions, as its new regional reseller to offer Managed File Transfer (MFT) solutions in Singapore, Middle East and Africa.

James Hatcher, Regional Director of SEEBURGER Asia Pacific says, “CrimsonLogic is a trusted partner to governments all over the world. We are expecting to see significant MFT solution sale opportunities arising over the next six months working with CrimsonLogic.”

Hatcher adds that the partnership with CrimsonLogic also puts SEEBURGER in a stronger strategic position to expand its penetration into the trade and logistic community where CrimsonLogic has established strong credibility.

I believe CrimsonLogic has the right mix of customer base and business footprint to explore and implement innovative solutions.”

Plugging the File Transfer Security Gap in Governments
Hatcher further adds, “Data Security is now a top priority in government and financial sectors. Every year the governments spend billion dollars on sophisticated cyber security measures, but too often ignore the basics of protecting files, forgetting that the main data security vulnerabilities at government levels are mainly due to employees’ use of unsecure methods, such as File Transfer Protocol to exchange information.”
“There is a significant demand for secured MFT solutions and the partnership with CrimsonLogic  helps us make greater inroads into these sectors in Singapore, Middle East and Africa,” says Hatcher, adding that SEEBURGER already has regional presence in China, Japan, Malaysia, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Thailand, and Australia.

“The alliance with CrimsonLogic is strategic in two ways.  Firstly, it enhances both organization’s global market share and customer base.  Secondly, CrimsonLogic has made successful forays into the Middle Eastern and African markets, while SEEBURGER has a stronger presence in Europe and North America. The vast experience of CrimsonLogic in I.T. security yields great potential for SEEBURGER to capture new market share,” Hatcher highlights.

Simon further shares, “SEEBURGER’s reputation for secured file transfer solutions will enhance our position to help our customers best optimize their investments, by enabling an unprecedented degree of connectivity, visibility and collaboration in information exchange for business communications.”

“Importantly, as governments and enterprises move towards managing larger volumes of information and data, as one of the world’s leading eGovernment solution provider, it makes business sense to be able to bring in and offer innovative solutions that will help our customers enhance their operational efficiency in a safer environment.”

SEEBURGER Launches IT Microsite for Corporate CIOs in Malaysia

German leading IT vendor shares thought leadership insights to drive competitiveness in financial services industry (FSI)

Kuala Lumpur, 29 APRIL 2013 — SEEBURGER, the leading German-based business integration and enterprise class Managed File Transfer (MFT) solutions provider, today announced the availability of its financial services centric technology Microsite — www.seeburgerfsi.com as a research and resources (R&R) center for local Chief Information Officers (CIOs).

The new SEEBURGER’s microsite presents an across-the-board look at trends, opportunities, challenges and issues that concern the financial services industry (FSI) worldwide, as well as features SEEBURGER’s thought leadership on revolutionary IT impacts in this industry.

James Hatcher, Managing Director of SEEBURGER APAC, says the establishment of the Microsite intends to create higher awareness of data integrity and security within the financial services landscape, whilst advocating the company's business directions in FSI.

“This is an example how SEEBURGER puts significant investments into identifying the patterns of ICT changes in FSI that pave the way for FSI players to see how they can capitalize IT trends to continually uphold data integrity,” he says.

He adds that the Microsite also serves the needs of business decision makers, analysts, technology practitioners and even the mass public.

Advocating Best Practices in Data Governance

According to Deloitte’s global financial services industry security survey (October 2012), FSI organizations in Asia Pacific have made information security governance as their top security initiative. More than 50% of respondents of over 250 financial services organizations from 39 countries that were surveyed reported an increase in their information security budgets.

Today, despite the security focus on other industries, FSI continues to be a top target for data breaches, caused by hacks, insider data theft, and the loss of a portable device that contains financial or private information.

"The SEEBURGER’s Microsite features prominent content to help CIOs think of ways to innovate their existing IT infrastructures under the pressure of Big Data to address security challenges, govern the disclosure of customers’ personal financial information and simplify compliances,” explains Hatcher.

He also shares that the Microsite’s user friendly interface allows busy executives to find and download the information they need quickly and easily.

In the next coming weeks, SEEBURGER will be adding several more new sections including collaterals and videos to enrich the Microsite’s contents. The Microsite will be updated on a regular basis to reflect the key forces and dynamics, which are shaping the financial services market.

“IT decision makers will find the microsite very helpful for suggestions to exploit IT to maintain a competitive yet sustainable edge for their business," he ends.

Tighter Data Integration: The Top Priority for Financial Organizations

German software company SEEBURGER unveils market trend findings that drive technology investment decisions in financial organizations worldwide

Kuala Lumpur, 28 SEPTEMBER 2012 — SEEBURGER, the leading German-based business integration and enterprise class Managed File Transfer (MFT) solutions provider today shares some of its market trend findings amongst global financial institutions, as part of its involvement at the Vietnam Finance 2012 forum.

According to SEEBURGER’s APAC, Managing Director, James Hatcher, tighter data integration is the one of the top priority technology purchase decisions by global financial organizations today.

“This information is based on SEEBURGER’s customer reference data that indicates that financial organizations’ business drivers boil down to the ability to reduce costs, focus on core (banking) operations, and to reduce risk via better data security.”

Hatcher says that the one common challenge in meeting these three business drivers is the issue of data integration.

“Almost all banks, like a typical financial organization, face the legacy issue of having to deal with many silo-ed, or disparate systems. Even till today, a lot of data is captured at different sources and remains “stranded on data islands” within the different systems where they reside.”

In addition to the laborious process of integrating this data for effective usage, Hatcher shares that the challenge grows with trends sweeping the banking landscape today.

“Firstly, core Banking systems are designed to last at least 10 years before replacement, and we are in the current era where many ASEAN banks have reached the 2nd cycle for replacement.”

“Secondly, is the pressing demand for web-based banking solutions. In trying to keep up with the rapid evolution of web-based banking products and services, many organizations are struggling with how to deliver tight data integration at the solutions’ backend without hard coding. Hard coding interfaces compounds the enterprise level integration scenario when you look at modernizing a financial infrastructure.”

“Thirdly, next-generation applications such as advanced Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and business analytics systems are resulting in multiple databases for the same customer accounts. Synchronization of master data becomes another business issue.”

Benefits to Data Integration

Hatcher shares some quantitative statistics on the benefits which financial organizations have successful benefited from adopting data consolidation solutions.

“Based on our customer reference accounts, there is up to 96% reduction of expenditure related to search (ie. document tracking); 65% cost cuts in implementing B2B/EDI interfaces; 60% in reduction of software maintenance fees; 50% in reduction of hidden operation cost and operation personnel; and 30% reduction in transfer fees.”

Similar to other ASEAN nations, Hatcher says that Malaysia’s financial organizations will continue to place data integration as a priority over the next 24 months.

SEEBURGER: Embrace MFT Technology, Prevent Data Breaches

German software company advocates Managed File Transfer (MFT) for more secure content sharing amongst mobile users

Kuala Lumpur, 18 SEPTEMBER 2012 — SEEBURGER, the leading German-based business integration and enterprise class Managed File Transfer (MFT) solutions provider, urges Malaysian businesses to embrace MFT technologies more pervasively throughout their organization, in order to increase the overall level security in the important process of file sharing.

SEEBURGER’s APAC, Managing Director, James Hatcher, highlights that data breaches due to the file sharing process - whether by email, File Transfer Protocol (FTP), hosted file sharing services or other methods, can be almost be 100% prevented leveraging managed file transfer (MFT) technology.

“Today, many local businesses are still exposed to risk, and compliance with security mandates that often fell short.  This is due to the continued reliance on FTP, email and flash drives that lack the policy, governance and tracking capabilities for sharing business documents.”

He shared that just recently the South Carolina Dept. of Health & Human Services revealed that confidential personal information of about 228,400 medical beneficiaries was compromised when a former agency employee sent the data to his personal email account.

“This overseas example is increasingly common everywhere and brings the alert to a more urgent need to adopt MFT technology as a more holistic approach to data security that takes unique business needs into account,” he says, adding that Forrester Research found that about 80 per cent of senior IT managers today said they require heightened IT security options for their file transfers.

Secured Enterprise-Level File Sharing Solution

SEEBURGER offers MFT as an enterprise-level file sharing solution that protects organizations against security, governance and regulatory compliance violations; as well as overcoming the very common size limitations issues associated with email; and can apply to any device including tablets and smartphones, and help CIOs gain control over their burgeoning BYOD (‘Bring Your Own Device’) trend.

Each file transfer made through MFT is checked against pre-defined policies. They are also encrypted, authenticated, monitored to ensure delivery, and logged in a central location for easy tracking and auditing.

MFT can be used to protect sensitive and/or large files ranging from payroll, customer lists, price lists, HR data, and financial and tax information to business plans, contracts and RFPs, CAD/engineering drawings and large multimedia files such as marketing videos. It can be deployed on premise or in the cloud.

In ASEAN market, SEEBURGER’s MFT technology is well-positioned to stay in the forefront of the competition and to capitalize on the expanding size of focus industries that include the manufacturing, telecommunications, healthcare, retail, commercial, financial services, and public sector.

“In Malaysia, the SEEBURGER local partners are Time Engineering Berhad and Datamation (M) Sdn Bhd,” ends Hatcher.
