Epicor Provides Enhanced Web-Based Storefront Solution to Support Online B2B and B2C Sales

June 28, 2007 — Epicor Software Corporation (NASDAQ: EPIC), a leading provider of enterprise business software solutions for the midmarket and divisions of Global 1000 companies, today announced Epicor iScala Storefront, powered by Part Trap®. Now available with Epicor iScala, a comprehensive end-to-end suite of proven industry-specific solutions for the global midmaket enterprise, iScala Storefront is a comprehensive Web-based order management solution that allows companies to provide Web-based sales functionality to their partners, customers and sales people.

The feature rich iScala Storefront allows companies to reduce the cost of order entry, maintenance and enquiry while reducing entry error. Because customers enter their own orders, they are recorded at point of entry and not transcribed. This easy to use solution also provides greater efficiency in the sales cycle. Customers have access to descriptions, prices, discounts, availability and the ability to place an order as well as define delivery requirements at any hour of the day.

Customers Become Empowered to Self-Serve

Depending on permission level, the user can create, edit or delete orders and quotations. Real-time stock availability can be displayed together with customer specific prices, discounts and delivery planning, all calculated using Web services. Interactive images can be used to simplify product selection using clickable hotspots for ordering individual product items; ideal for use for spare parts ordering. On completion the order is saved into iScala instantly and the user receives confirmation on the screen and optionally via e-mail with total price, expected delivery date and order number.

Optional features include the iScala Storefront Catalog and the iScala Storefront Configurator. The iScala Storefront Catalog provides support for maintaining and printing a PDF format catalog or individual product pages in the selected language. The iScala Storefront Configurator guides the user through configuring a complex product from preset component options and accessories.

Open for Business Anytime, Anywhere

With iScala Storefront companies can view basic customer account information, display open and closed invoices selected by invoice number, order number, invoice date, due date or customer order number. Individual sales orders can be opened to display order header and line detail including open and closed lines.

Users can easily look up products through a search field or the product search tree, which will provide a product list showing availability and price, and enabling selection for the order basket. Images and detailed descriptions can be displayed along with planned and previous deliveries, including drill down to the sales order details.

Companies can create and run promotional campaigns and news can be created for customer groups or individual customers. Campaign items can be highlighted on the welcome screen with special prices or other offerings, or purchase of certain items can qualify the customer for free gifts or reduced price on other items—all managed through the built-in campaign designer.

When bicycle component and accessory manufacturer Shimano Australia implemented iScala Storefront, they were excited to have in place a one-stop hub for anything a bicycle retailer might need. According to John Bazzano, managing director for Shimano Australia, with Epicor’s storefront solution they’ve found that the intuitively simple explorer-type navigation is a very quick and effective way of presenting and navigating through their comprehensive range of bicycle parts on a 24/7 basis. “The information – graphics and text – that can be incorporated in iScala Storefront makes our B2B Web site a very useful addition to any bicycle workshop. We have also found that the average value of sales orders logged through the storefront is up to 50% higher in value than orders placed by other means.”

“With iScala Storefront, companies are better able to meet their customers ordering needs at anytime of day or night, wherever they happen to be in the world—enabling truly global businesses,” said Steve Humble, senior director of product marketing for Epicor. “Our Storefront delivers functionally rich Web-based order management, tightly integrated to the iScala database and business logic, allowing for quick implementation and a low cost of ownership.”

Available now, the iScala Storefront solution is offered in two packages, iScala Storefront Enterprise and iScala Storefront Standard. iScala Storefront Enterprise is licensed per server and provides support for unlimited customers and salesmen for a single company running on a single server; additional companies may be added to extend the base product to provide additional Web sites. iScala Storefront Standard is licensed per server for a single company and provides support for up to five named customers and two named salesmen; additional named customers and salesmen may be added using additional Standard CALs.
