HP and DHL Express Extend Desktop Management Service Contract

KUALA LUMPUR, August 21, 2007 – HP Malaysia and DHL Express Malaysia today signed an agreement to extend their five-year successful partnership with an Innovative Desktop Management Service (DMS) contract.

The new three-year DMS contract is part of DHL Express’ strategy aimed at improving total cost of ownership (TCO) and, at the same time, increasing business productivity and efficiency.
Specifically, DHL Express employees will benefit from increased productivity and superior service quality through a reliable and single services platform provided by HP. Additionally, IT managers can reduce risk and complexity in the management and delivery of IT services to the business.

“With this DMS contract in place, we will be able to simplify our IT management tasks and focus on our core competency, which is to meet customers’ express and logistics needs and requirements,” said Patrick Khoo, DHL Express’ National Information Services Manager.
The new DMS contract carries several new programs and benefits for DHL Express. The notable features include:

Incident reduction – A continuous program in which both DHL Express and HP drive improvement projects to reduce the number of service failures in the country. The program includes audits, reviews and technology implementation (where necessary).

Higher service levels – The new contract allows for shorter and improved resolution times for all service tickets. This includes a higher Key Performance Indicator (KPI) for first call resolution, thus increasing customer satisfaction.

Flexibility of managing resources – The deal allows DHL Express and HP to work together and allocate resources to projects that are based on priority. This will ensure that the current Service Level Agreement is achieved while projects can be attended to by HP.

This DMS contract, which is part of HP’s wider End User Workplace Solution (EUWS) portfolio, can enable companies like DHL Express to achieve the balance between end user, IT and management objectives, thus allowing them to improve productivity, lower complexity in the management and delivery of IT services, attain more control of their IT assets or reduce workplace costs.

“DHL Express is committed towards making strategic IT investments in Malaysia, and the driving force behind this investment is to ensure that our staff and customers get the technological support they need – increasing the efficiency and speed of operations and ultimately, customer satisfaction,” added Khoo.

Companies also benefit from integrated support to help them keep IT in sync with their business objectives. Furthermore, HP EUWS can include a total financing solution tailored to meet customers’ individual needs and budgets.

“HP’s vision for the end user workplace environment is to provide our enterprise customers with an extensive portfolio of products, services and solutions that solve real business issues at a competitive price, through a single point of contact,” said Kevin Wong, Country General Manager, HP Services, Technology Services Group, HP Malaysia.

“As customers increasingly demand more end-to-end capability as well as simplicity, manageability and adaptability in their business and IT environment, they can rely on HP EUWS to proactively meet the needs of end users, IT managers and decision-makers within their organization,” added Wong.
