Celcom推出Prudential特製版BlackBerry Curve 8310

CELCOM offers customised BlackBerry smartphone package to Prudential and launches new BlackBerry® Curve 8310 KUALA LUMPUR, 24 October 2007 - Celcom (Malaysia) Berhad, through its subsidiary Celcom Mobile Sdn Bhd, today formalised a joint collaboration with leading insurer Prudential Assurance Malaysia Berhad to offer Prudential agents and employees a customised BlackBerry® smartphone corporate package, enabling them to enjoy powerful mobile solutions at the best rates.

Via this strategic partnership, Celcom will provide voice and data plans to 1,500 of Prudential’s employees and top agents who use the Blackberry solution. They will have the choice to select either the BlackBerry® 8707v, BlackBerry® Pearl™ 8100 or the BlackBerry® Curve™ 8310 smartphone, which was launched today.

Through this exclusive agreement, Celcom will also create a special package for Prudential’s employees and the remaining of its 8,000-strong agency force. The collaboration is expected to complement Prudential’s plan to move its agency force into full mobility, as Celcom will be providing the insurer with the vital communication tools to support its upcoming sales force automation application.

Speaking at the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony, Celcom’s Chief Executive Officer, Dato’ Sri Shazalli Ramly said, “We are excited to be making two significant announcements today, the first being the deployment of the BlackBerry solution for Prudential agents across the country, and the second being the launch of the BlackBerry Curve 8310. With today’s announcements, Celcom is cementing its position as the country’s largest and most trusted business mobile provider.”

“Prudential agents now have the freedom to enjoy superior connectivity with this new customised package via BlackBerry® smartphones. Packed with incredible features, the handsets are specially designed to allow users to communicate seamlessly, whenever and wherever they choose,” added Dato’ Sri Shazalli.

Echoing Dato’ Sri Shazalli’s sentiments, Prudential’s Chief Executive Officer, Tan Kar Hor said: “As a firm believer in technology, we have taken proactive steps, over the years, to provide our agency force with the necessary technological tools to continuously increase their efficiency in conducting their business and accelerate responsiveness to our customers.

“Today, we have gone a step further by collaborating with Celcom to become the first company in Malaysia to use Celcom’s new BlackBerry Curve 8310. With this partnership, we hope to be able to continue realising our vision of having the most ‘well-connected’ agency force in the industry, raising the productivity of our agents and increasing customer satisfaction to an even higher level,” he added.

Representing Celcom at the signing ceremony was its Senior Vice President, Global Enterprise, Tuan Syed Md Najib Syed Md Noor, whilst Mr. Jeffrey Yem, Chief Officer of Customer Service signed on behalf of Prudential. The event was officiated and witnessed by Mr. Tan and Dato’ Sri Shazalli.

The BlackBerry Curve 8310 is the latest BlackBerry model to be introduced by Celcom. Other smartphones offered include the BlackBerry 8707v and the BlackBerry Pearl 8100, which comes in three different colours – black, white and red.

The BlackBerry Curve 8310 is an innovative smartphone designed for customers who want a feature-rich multimedia phone with best-in-class voice and data communications. Offering built-in GPS with BlackBerry® Maps and advanced multimedia capabilities, the BlackBerry Curve 8310 comes with a 2-megapixel camera, media player, expandable memory slot, voice dialing, an easy-to-use QWERTY keyboard and RIM's intuitive trackball navigation system.

It features a smooth and comfortable handset design, allowing people on the move to make calls, send emails, surf the Internet, take and send photographs, listen to music, watch videos, access their organizer and calendar, and supports a range of third-party business and leisure applications. The BlackBerry Curve 8310 also includes a microSD expansion memory slot that supports both microSD (up to 2GB) and microSDHC (4GB to 32GB) memory cards for additional storage. Bluetooth® 2.0 support is integrated for use with hands-free headsets, stereo headsets, car kits and other Bluetooth peripherals.
