Allied Telesis foresees Government and Education sectors to contribute 60% of 2008 revenues

Appoints new Sales Manager to accelerate business growth in these sectors
KUALA LUMPUR, 10 June 2008 – Allied Telesis, a global provider of secure IP/Ethernet access solutions and an industry leader in the deployment of IP Triple Play networks over copper and fiber access infrastructures, today announced the appointment of Mr. Nuurul Basar b. Mohd Baki, 34 as the company’s new Sales Manager for the Government and Education sectors.

“The hiring of Nuurul is in line with the company’s growth strategy for the Malaysian market with the government and education sector expected to contribute 60% of ATI projected revenues for 2008. We are looking at a 20% year-on-year growth,” said Mr. Paul Choy, Country Sales Manager, Malaysia, Allied Telesis International (Asia) Pte. Ltd.

“ATI offers end-to-end networking solutions to service providers, enterprise and government sectors which will stand to benefit from ATI’s cost-effective robust products, reliable and secure solutions. With the proliferation of e-services by the Government and expected IT spending of RM300 million for year 2008 on projects and upgrades, we hope to continue to grow the government and education sides of the business,” added Paul.

Nuruul, 34 is a Microsoft Certified Professional and Cisco Certified Network Associate and has been involved in the IT industry for the last nine years with various leading networking and solutions providers where he was responsible for IT networking deployments with both vendor-specific and open source applications.

His portfolio of projects includes Telekom Malaysia, Polis Diraja, Kementerian Kesihatan, Kementerian Pendidikan, Lembaga Hasil Dalam Negeri, Jabatan Perpaduan Negara dan Integrasi Nasional, Terengganu State Government and Universiti Teknologi MARA, to name a few.
