JARING CLINCHES MALAYSIA’S FIRST INTERNET TELEPHONY-CELLULAR INTERCONNECTION

KUALA LUMPUR, Jun 6 – JARING Communications today announced the commencement of JARING-Celcom Internet telephone interconnection, enabling subscribers from both service providers to make and receive direct calls.

The tie-up between JARING and CELCOM marks the first Internet telephony - cellular interconnection in Malaysia.

Telephony Service over Internet Protocol (TSoIP) allows subscribers to make a call directly from a computer, a special TSoIP phone, or a traditional phone connected to a special broadband phone adapter.

Subscribers to JARING MY015 services are given one phone line and phone number with a prefix of 0154.

According to Dr Mohamed bin Awang Lah, chief executive of JARING Communications, “After extensive testing, we are now completely satisfied with quality of the service and subscribers can immediately start making calls and experience the direct interconnection between internet and a cellular medium.”

“The JARING-CELCOM interconnection is an effective application that keeps our customers connected via the mobile phone or PC.

“This service will benefit our customers who are already avid internet users, allowing them now to make and receive calls from anywhere in the world at a fraction of fixed line and mobile rates, simply because every call is routed through the Internet,” added Dr Mohamed.

JARING’s MY105 service can be used through a number of communications devices ranging from mobile phones, soft phones on their PCs and laptops and even physical IP phones on their premises.

JARING has been allocated with 0154 81X XXXX numbering block by MCMC that enables JARING to serve as many as 100,000 subscribers and more with additional blocks of numbers.

The new facility provided by JARING is based on a non-geographic numbering system which allows subscribers to communicate with each other at a distance-independent call rate anywhere through broadband connection – even on an airline flight equipped with WIFI access.

JARING’s Access Agreement with CELCOM was registered and approved by The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission in February.

JARING 首创大马网络电话和流动电话直接通话

（吉隆坡21日讯）JARING Communications今日宣布JARING网络电话价和天地通连接，让两个服务供应商的用户接收和拨打电话直接通话。

JARING和天地通的连接，象征大马首个网络电话和流动电话的通话连接。

网络电话 (TSoIP) 允许签购者从电脑、特别的网络电话服务电话 (TSoIP phone) 或传统电话，拨电至特定宽频电话适配器 (adapter)。

JARING MY105服务的签购者获分配到一条以0154 号码作为前缀的电话线。

JARING Communications 首席执行员 Dr Mohamed bin Awang Lah披露：“经过大规模的测试，目前我们对所提供的服务素质感到满意。签购者可立即开始拨打电话，体验网络和流动媒介的直接通话。”

“JARING和CELCOM 的接通，是让客户透过流动电话或电脑保持联系的有效应用程式。”

Dr Mohamed补充：“这项服务将惠及已经是热衷网络使用者的客户，允许他们在全球以固定电话和手机的部分收费，拨电或接听来电，这是因为所有电话都是透过网络拨打。”

透过JARING MY105服务，允许用户使用各种通讯设备，包括手机、个人及手提电脑的电话应用软件及硬体式的网络电话。

JARING使用由MCMC规定的015 481X XXXX一组号码，让JARING在初步阶段，为超过10万名用户提供服务以及提供额外的号码。

这项由JARING提供的新服务，使用非区域性号码系统 (non-geographic numbering system)，不管距离多远，用户可享用固定收费，透过宽频甚至是飞机上的无线宽频拨电，取得联系。

JARING和天地通的市场准入协议 (Access Agreement) 是在今年2月注册并获得大马通讯及多媒体委员会 (Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission) 的批准。
