ROKR E8 Stars in Experiential Road show

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – 10 June 2008 – Motorola, Inc. (NYSE: MOT), a global leader in mobile entertainment brings the excitement of the ROKR experience closer to the consumer. The multi-award winning ROKR E8 was showcased at a recent five-day road show at Suria KLCC where consumers and Motorola fans were given the chance to experience the device’s multi-faceted features first-hand.

A recipient of numerous accolades at CES 2008, the ROKR E8’s mobile entertainment capabilities were showcased with live products and larger-than-life mock-ups, giving visitors the ability to witness the phone’s unique morphing abilities; from mobile phone to music player to imaging device and back again, powered using Motorola’s breakthrough ModeShift™ technology.
Members of the public also got the opportunity to experience the ROKR E8’s haptic touch pad, which provides vibrating tactile feedback when the user touches the virtual buttons, as well as experience the ultimate freedom in loading songs from multiple sources.

“Motorola designed ROKR E8 to deliver an uncompromised experience for music lovers,” said Zulkifli Mat Jusoh, Head of Marketing, Mobile Devices Business, Malaysia. “It’s both an MP3 player that makes great phone calls and a mobile phone with tremendous audio capabilities. With our unique ModeShift technology, we’re dispelling the myth that mobile phones with music features are inferior to stand-alone audio devices. With our expanding ROKR portfolio, we will offer consumers a complete music ecosystem and experience.”

“This road show is important as it allows Motorola to better connect with our customer and is a celebration of the ROKR E8’s success. Our mobile entertainment phones, accessories and Bluetooth® headset ranges have proven to be phenomenally attractive to our customers and we are continuously developing the portfolio in our efforts to cater to their needs – what better way to showcase Motorola innovation than to put it in your hands”, Zul added.

Visitors to the road show were also shown how a ROKR E8 was paired with the ROKR S9 Bluetooth stereo headset, allowing consumers the chance to experience SRS WOW HD™ surround sound technology, ambient noise reduction and ear buds that are comfortable to the ears. The ROKR E8 can also be complemented with the EQ5 and EQ7 wireless speaker systems, where users are able to easily switch between high quality music and phone calls with the touch of a button. When paired with a mobile phone¹, the EQ5 and EQ7 doubles as a speakerphone and Bluetooth connectivity means that clunky and obstructive wires are a thing of the past. Visitors to the road show also enjoyed exclusive rebates on both wireless speaker systems.

Also on display at the road show were Motorola’s slim W series handsets, the W270 and W230, which are not only slim, stylish and eye-catching but also provides value for money.
