First Solution Innovation Center to provide resources to help Business Partners port, test and optimize their solutions.

Kuala Lumpur: First Solution Sdn Bhd (FSSB), a 1st tier IBM distributor, today launched the First Solution Innovation Center (FSIC). Present to officiate the opening of FSIC were the Managing Director of IBM Malaysia, Mr Ou Shian Waei, and Chief Executive Officer of Formis Resources Berhad, Dato’ Mah Siew Kwok.

Based at Menara SMI, Kuala Lumpur, this innovation center aims to provide FSSB’s business partners and their end users with access to startup facilities, proof of concept, application testing, applications porting and training activities. The center is also focused at meeting the increasing hardware demands within the Oil & Gas and Manufacturing industries as well as the Financial Sector.

The center houses the first IBM BladeCenter and Storage Solution Center and is powered by IBM System x, IBM System p and IBM System Storage, which surged to its No. 1 position in ASEAN (both External & Overall Disk) for the past two consecutive quarters with a strong double digit year-to-year growth (IDC ASEAN Q3 & Q407).

FSSB has the widest range of IBM Blades powered by Intel, AMD and Power Processor and IBM System x rack-based servers which are built on IBM X-Architecture for enterprise-class reliability. X-Architecture is the IBM blueprint for bringing innovation to x86 systems - innovation that helps set customers apart from the competition. The launching of this centre is also an expansion of IBM’s strategy to support and develop business partners locally and to accelerate the deployment of these partner’s solutions and services to the marketplace.

"The opening of this innovation center is a testament of IBM’s commitment to supporting and collaborating with the business partners to generate more innovative solutions for our clients. A key focus is working with IBM Business Partners to provide them with easy access to IBM skills and equipment, to help them migrate, test and optimize their applications”, said Ou Shian Waei, Managing Director, IBM Malaysia.

Ms. Tiew Chew Yan, General Manager of FSSB added, ‘While the generic needs for hardware, software applications and porting are fulfilled through FSIC, FSSB has also invested vastly in the latest IBM Blade Solutions Technology in order to keep ourselves abreast towards customer’s demands. We also provide co-marketing support in order to help them gain footprints in the marketplace’.
