Oracle Introduces Oracle Communications Services Gatekeeper

New Version of Former BEA WebLogic Communications Software Further Enables Next-Generation IP Services

BROADBAND WORLD FORUM ASIA, HONG KONG – July 15, 2008
· Delivering a carrier-grade, standards-based environment for services exposure, services-layer policy enforcement, partner relationship management and network-access control, Oracle announced today the availability of Oracle Communications Services Gatekeeper 4.0 (formerly BEA WebLogic Network Gatekeeper).
· A key component of the newly unveiled Oracle Communications Service Delivery portfolio (See related announcement.), Oracle Communications Services Gatekeeper enables network operators to enhance the quality and monetization of their service delivery platforms (SDP), cost-effectively scale their third-party developer and partner ecosystems and rapidly expand their portfolios of revenue-generating communication and data services.

Oracle Communications Services Gatekeeper 4.0 Detail
· Oracle Communications Services Gatekeeper 4.0 extends its open standards-based service exposure layer with additional value-added, Web services-based enablers for messaging, call control and profiles. The added enablers can be exposed to third-party Web and application developers to allow network operators to create new and innovative revenue-generating services more rapidly and easily.
· This latest product release enhances the service provider’s ability to customize and extend the Oracle Communications Services Gatekeeper platform. Delivering enhanced service creation and policy customization tools, the software allows third-party developers and system integrators to create new services more easily while allowing operators to better centralize policy enforcement. This ability helps deliver rapid time-to-revenue, while maintaining a high service quality.
· By integrating with Oracle’s comprehensive business and operational support system (BSS/OSS) applications, Oracle Communications Services Gatekeeper ensures that service providers can quickly and efficiently fulfill, market and monetize new services and enable the partner value chain.
· Further, the platform’s open, standards-based service-oriented architecture (SOA) framework and support for industry standards such as Java Platform, Enterprise Edition (Java EE), Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) and Diameter, make it less expensive for service providers to quickly deploy.
· More than 30 service providers worldwide have selected Oracle Communications Service Gatekeeper and its previous versions to efficiently enable the delivery of next-generation, IP-based content and application services.
