HP customers walk away with RM30,000 IKEA items

HP to reward total of RM90,000 hypermarket sweep; programme extended to 30 September

KUALA LUMPUR, August 29, 2008 – Amidst much excitement and good-natured competitiveness in one-upmanship, three Hewlett-Packard (HP) customers walked away with close to RM30,000 worth of chic IKEA furniture after the first HP “Run With Confidence” hypermarket sweep. Two minutes was all it took.

In total, HP is offering nine customers the chance to sweep IKEA goodies worth up to RM90,000.

RM30,000 in 2 minutes : The three winning teams from Magna Prima Berhad, Trio-Tech (M) Sdn Bhd and Priority I.T Solution Sdn Bhd with Vincent HB Lee, Country Business Manager, Industry Standard Servers, Technology Solutions Group of HP (standing third from left) and Chung Chee Cheong, Country Business Manager, HP StorageWorks (standing fourth from left).

In response to popular demand, HP has extended the programme, which began from 20 May to 30 September. The next hypermarket sweep will be held on 8 October. Customers wishing for the opportunity to grab stylish and contemporary IKEA items should submit their contest forms for the upcoming sweep by 3 October.

The specially orchestrated hypermarket sweeps are part of the HP “Run With Confidence” programme, which aims to reward HP ProLiant servers and StorageWorks customers.

“HP has done well in organising such a promotional campaign to reward us with up-market item from IKEA no less. The Run With Confidence hypermarket sweep was really fun and exciting. We enjoyed ourselves very much and look forward to sharing these items with our colleagues,” commented Anuar Ismadi, IT Executive of Magna Prima Berhad whose team managed to grab RM9,326 worth of items, the highest amount of items.

“It’s evident that HP not only offers the best in products. The HP ProLiant DL380 we bought is an excellent example. They also constantly find ways to bring customer service to a higher level by introducing programmes to reward customers,” added Anuar.

Besides the hypermarket sweep, HP customers who purchase the relevant ProLiant and StorageWorks models throughout the duration of this programme will enjoy instant rewards of Petronas petrol vouchers worth up to RM800. The value of each voucher varies based on the product model acquired and is applicable for selected HP StorageWorks models and all HP ProLiant models except HP ProLiant ML110 G5 server.

Winners for the hypermarket sweep will be chosen based on accuracy in answering two simple questions and creativity in completing the “Run With Confidence” slogan.

The other two winners of HP’s first hypermarket sweep are Trio-Tech (M) Sdn Bhd and Priority Solution.
