Anne Abraham Named as New Managing Director for Cisco Malaysia
KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia – 25 September 2008 – Cisco Malaysia today unveiled its new Malaysian office in Kuala Lumpur (KL) Sentral, reinforcing its commitment to the country. The company also named Anne Abraham as its new Managing Director in Malaysia, with Kumaran Singaram being promoted to a regional role.
Abraham was previously the country manager for SAP Malaysia and brings with her 19 years of experience in the Malaysian ICT industry. She will report to Chris Khang, President for Cisco’s Asia operations.
“The opening of Cisco’s new office in KL Sentral reaffirms Cisco’s commitment in helping local organisations drive transformation. I am also pleased to have a proven leader with solid industry credentials in Anne to take over our country operations. Kumaran has done a great job in leading the country for the past three years and we wish him well in his new role,” said Khang.
The new office designed along Cisco Connected Workplace principles, is one element of the business transformation that Cisco is undergoing throughout the world. Cisco Connected Workplace incorporates leading-edge collaboration, virtualisation and video technologies with the network as the platform.
A key highlight of Cisco’s new office is Cisco TelePresence. This breakthrough solution, with high-definition video and audio, enables virtual meetings to take place in multiple locations, with multiple organisations at one time, thus decreasing the time required for critical business decisions and reducing the need for expensive business travel.
Cisco TelePresence is set to revolutionise the way organisations conduct business in Malaysia with its ability to help local companies transform their businesses and foster collaboration internally as well as globally.
Speaking at the office opening, Randy Pond, Cisco’s Executive Vice President of Operations, Processes, and Systems, said that business transformation encompasses much more than incremental productivity enhancements.
“It’s about changing the way in which companies interact with their customers, partners, suppliers, and employees to drive continuous innovation and offer differentiated value. As business operations become increasingly global in scale and scope, companies in Malaysia and around the world are transforming their business models to capture new market opportunities while ensuring business continuity in an uncertain market environment,” said Pond.
“Effective collaboration and communications are, therefore, critical to business success today. In a global marketplace, the pace and nature of innovation are rapidly accelerating and evolving, and we need to leverage the knowledge, experience, and expertise of our total human capital to successfully lead this transformation,” he added.
