INTEL ENABLES NOTEBOOKS TO BE UPGRADED

Allowing notebook owners to purchase new Intel mobile processors starting from only RM299

KUALA LUMPUR, 10 September 2008 – Intel Malaysia announced today a campaign that enables channel partners to upgrade users’ notebooks to the latest Intel® Core™ 2 Duo mobile processors. The Intel Power Deals campaign which kicks off this month is available through selected Intel resellers nationwide and will create an avenue for notebook owners to realize significant cost savings through a simple CPU upgrade.

Under the Intel Power Deals campaign, companies and individuals who own the Acer Aspire Series notebooks or FTEC W2 Wider Wide Series notebooks are entitled to purchase Intel’s processors, including the high performance Intel® Core™ 2 Duo mobile processor, starting from only RM2991. Over the next few months, Intel is planning to include other notebook brands in this program.

Intel aims to continuously push the envelope to make computing more affordable to all Malaysians, and the campaign for notebook CPU upgrades clearly demonstrates Intel’s intent.

“With the concern over increasing expenses and economic challenges, we believe that this upgrade campaign is a cost effective option, especially when there are multiple notebooks that need to be upgraded,” said Ryaz Patel, country manager, sales and marketing, Intel Malaysia.
“This offer is therefore very attractive for consumers and business owners that have several notebooks that are due for a technology refresh,” he added.

Listed below are the model numbers for both the Acer Aspire Series notebooks and FTEC W2 Wider Wide Series notebooks that can be upgraded to various Intel processors including the Intel® Core™ 2 Duo mobile processor:
