Winners from "Small Is The Next Big Thing" Contest

At the recently concluded PC Fair 2008 that was held in Kuala Lumpur, Intel had held a campaign aimed at increasing CPU relevancy among consumers. The campaign themed ‘Small is the next big thing’, featured a challenge for visitors to Intel’s booth to demonstrate how they would interpret ‘Small Is The Next Big Thing.’

Over the three days, more than 150 participants conjured up ideas and brought items to Intel’s booth to interpret what ‘Small Is The Next Big Thing’ means to them. Participants were judged on their creativity and originality which were captured on photo and uploaded to Intel Malaysia’s blog at www.myintelblog.com. Three participants impressed the Intel judges and were duly rewarded with an Atom-based netbook each. The winners are:
1. Shahidan Senin, 29
2. James Kiong, 34 and
3. Tan Lay Har, 38

The netbooks that were given away are: FTEC Ebook, Acer Aspire One and Asus EeePC. The three netbooks are all powered by Intel®’s Atom™ processor, the smallest processor built with the world’s smallest transistors.

“We were happy with the number of visitors at the recent PC Fair and in particular the response from the visitors to our ‘Small Is The Next Big Thing’ challenge. We were also impressed by some of the creativity of the participants in epitomizing the theme,” said Norhizam Kadir, Marketing Manager of Intel Malaysia.

“The purpose of the challenge is part of Intel’s effort to educate consumers on the importance of choosing the right processor when purchasing PC and notebooks. We want to showcase how a tiny processor like the Atom processor which is based on Intel’s latest 45nm processor technology can enable consumers to do amazing tasks on their computers,” he added.
