Trend Micro Enterprise Security Stops New and Unknown Web Threats

Integrated solutions streamlines update deployment and threat response

Kuala Lumpur – Dec 5, 2008 – Trend Micro launched today, the Trend Micro Enterprise Security which minimizes the time to protect organizations from content security risks. Powered by the Smart Protection Network, Trend Micro Enterprise Security delivers immediate protection that improves automatically - closing the window of vulnerability - and minimizes complexity by reducing the time to acquire, deploy and manage enterprise security.

Time is the essence for enterprises to prevent malware and insider threats from damaging their staff productivity, customer, supplier and partner relationships, and corporate reputation.

According to a survey conducted by IDC named “Innovation and Security: Collaborative or Combative”, majority of senior executives believe it is critical to create an environment for business innovation within their companies. But at the same time, IT security risk is being considered as the single biggest inhibitor to business innovation, and more than 80% of the executives surveyed admit their organizations have “occasionally” or “often” backed away from innovative business opportunities because of information security concerns. One of the top five barriers to innovation is that “Information security turnaround time on business needs too long”.

“Companies in the region now tend to look for integrated solutions that are less client-side dependent, with faster and easier deployment,” said Goh Chee Hoh, Managing Director, Asia South and Hong Kong region, Trend Micro. “Powered by our unique Smart Protection Network, TMES delivers immediate protection that promptly closes the vulnerability window before damage takes place, and gives enterprises more time to proactively manage security across their organizations.”

Stop threats in the cloud
Powered by Smart Protection Network and the company’s patent-pending “in-the-cloud” technologies, the next-generation cloud-client content security infrastructure is designed to protect customers from Web threats no matter how or where they occur.

Real-time threat protection technologies and lightweight client architecture enables TMES to develop comprehensive, multi-layered security and proactive security management that expedites threat response and reduces the need for time-consuming security updates.

A move towards software virtual appliances
Trend Micro introduces two new software virtual appliances, namely InterScan™ Web Security Software Virtual Appliance (IWSVA) and InterScan Messaging Security Software Virtual Appliance (IMSVA), in order to address an increased market demand for security solutions that reduce costs, increase IT flexibility, speed up performance, simplify deployment and upgrades, improve disaster recovery and promote business continuity. These software appliances combine a hardened operating system and application stack that can run optimally on industry standard “bare-metal” hardware or alternatively in a virtual machine.
