Canon releases two new all-in-one printers with indispensable frills, ideal for the office and home

Improve productivity in the office with two affordable high performance multi-tasking printers

KUALA LUMPUR, 28TH MAY 2009 – Canon Marketing (Malaysia), a global leader in photographic and digital imaging solutions introduced its new PIXMA MX338 and MX328 armed with a host of new user-friendly capabilities. The All-In-One inkjet printers complement every office or home business with its printing, scanning, copying and faxing functions.

The PIXMA MX338 and MX328 include a 30-sheet Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) to enhance productivity. Quality output is assured with a maximum 4800 x 1200 dpi (dots per inch) print resolution, with microscopic ink droplets as small as 2 picoliters for high quality printouts.

Quick printouts with assured quality
For print jobs that need to be completed quickly, the PIXMA MX338 and MX328 provides the new ISO standard printing speed at 7.5 ipm (images per minute) for black & white documents, and 4.5 ipm for colour documents. Borderless 4” x 6” photos print in just 45 seconds, while Canon’s ChromaLife100+ system ensures that photo prints resist fading for up to 300 years in an album.

Advanced features and built for ease of use
Both the MX338 and MX328 have a Quick Start feature to ensure the machines are ready to begin operation seconds after they are powered on, while the Auto Scan Mode makes scanning incredibly easy for the user by recognising the document automatically, performing cropping, image optimisation and saving into appropriate categories at just a touch of the scan button. With Super G3 (33.6kbps) fax capability, faxes can be transmitted in just 3 seconds, while color copies complete in only approximately 31 seconds.

New feature to the PIXMA MX338 – with built-in Advanced Copy Technology, now you can make copies that provide margin allowance for binding document stacks, remove unsightly punch holes, and add dates and page numbers to copies – all without the help of a PC.

For further ease of use, the PIXMA MX338 also features a large 1.8” TFT color viewer with a wide viewing angle, ideal for reviewing images when printing directly from memory cards.

NOTIFICATION: NEW ISO STANDARDS FOR PRINT AND COPY SPEED
Canon supports the latest ISO/IEC 24734 and 24735 Printer Productivity Standards. Under the ISO FDIS, manufacturers of printers are encouraged to adopt a common measurement system to specify print and copy speed performance. This makes it easier for users to choose products according to their printing and copying needs.

Canon adopts print and copy speeds based on the ISO FDIS. The ISO/IEC 24734 and 24735 standards will also indicate “ipm” (images per minute) for print and copy speeds instead of “ppm” (pages per minute).

The Canon PIXMA MX338 and MX328 Office All-In-One inkjet printers will be available in stores from June 2009 onwards at the recommended retail price of RM 498 and RM478 respectively.
