Huawei Wins Three Telecom Asia 2011 Readers’ Choice Awards

Huawei named Best Telecom Vendor of the Year, Wireless Network Vendor of the Year, and Broadband Network Vendor of the Year

Singapore, 2 December, 2011: Huawei, a leading global information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider, was named Best Telecom Vendor of the Year, Wireless Network Vendor of the Year, and Broadband Network Vendor of the Year at the 4th Annual Telecom Asia 2011 Readers’ Choice Awards.

The Telecom Asia Readers’ Choice Awards recognize the achievements of the region’s foremost telecom equipment suppliers. Winners were selected based on a combination of factors, including overall quality of innovation, contribution to technology advancement, market share, revenue growth, contribution to industry growth, and vision and industry leadership. Huawei’s win in the Best Telecom Vendor of the Year—a new category this year—was especially meaningful since this special designation was a “best of the best” honor and had not been drawn from a shortlist.

More than 60 analysts, consultants, and telecom executives submitted over 520 nominations for this year’s awards and Telecom Asia’s editorial team, in tandem with a team of analysts, selected the final list of nominees. A total of 45 companies were nominated in 21 categories, and readers of Telecom Asia picked winners in 15 of those categories. The remaining six categories were designated Special Editor Recognition Awards and were voted on by the editors of Telecom Asia.
