First in Malaysia to offer free mobile surfing via DiGiLive Zero

Free mobile internet connection to listed sites when browsing via DiGi-Opera Mini platform

Shah Alam, 16 October 2011 – True to its mission to deliver Internet For All, DiGi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd (“DiGi”) has developed a special portal, DiGiLive Zero to encourage more people across Malaysia to enjoy mobile internet for free when surfing on the Opera Mini browser. This makes DiGi the first mobile operator in Malaysia to offer free mobile surfing via Opera Mini to selected sites every month.

Customers can browse the sites listed on DiGiLive Zero without the need to pay data charges. The sites reflect the many different interests of customers to further enrich their mobile internet experience and encourage them to use the browser platform.The DiGi-Opera Mini browser has a unique compression technology that allows users up to 90% faster surfing experience. This enables customers, including non-smartphone users, to enjoy the full mobile internet experience at a faster and more cost-efficient rate. DiGi was the first operator in Malaysia to introduce co-branded Opera Mini browser in March 2011. As of today, DiGi has recorded the highest number of Opera Mini users in Malaysia.
On DiGiLive Zero, customers can search for the best daily deals in gift ideas, restaurants and holiday getaways from group buying sites listed such as DealMates, Hahah Deals, iLoveDiscounts, Living Social and MilkADeal. There are also links to learn more about the Chinese Zodiac signs and Feng Shui for 2012. All these sites are now accessible for free via DiGiLive Zero from 16 January to 31 March 2012.
