Canon's latest XEED Multimedia Projector - WUX5000

delivers beyond Full HD-resolution widescreen projection, installation-friendly features and a choice of three optional interchangeable lenses.

KUALA LUMPUR, 2 July 2012 – Canon, world leader in digital imaging solutions, has announced its latest high resolution projector for the installation market. Generating WUXGA (1920 x 1200) widescreen images with an aspect ratio 16:10 and a high brightness level of 5000 lumens, it is the projector of choice for theatres, conference halls, corporate boardrooms, theme parks, museums, educational institutions and medical facilities.

Canon’s Proprietary Technology
The XEED WUX5000‘s LCOS (Liquid Crystal on Silicon) panels deliver crisp and intricate detail with high contrast and accurate color. Canon’s latest installation-type projector also includes three high-quality optional interchangeable projection lenses: a standard zoom, long zoom, and a fixed short-focus lens.“The XEED WUX5000 maximizes the imaging superiority of LCOS technology with the Canon AISYS (Aspectual Illumination System) optical engine, delivering detailed, ultra-bright images which are free of lattice, “screen door” and “rainbow” artifacts. The projector features an impressive 1000:1 contrast ratio that optimizes deep blacks with a tonal gradation of neutral colors for dramatic color reproduction,” said Mr. Donny Ling, Director of Consumer System Products Division, Canon Marketing (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd.

“In addition, a 3D-LUT (Look-Up Table) via a new color processing IC chip further enhances the accuracy and range of image expression. With the 6-axis adjustment function that allows fine-tuning of hue, saturation, gamma, brightness, the WUX5000 features unparalleled color adjustment options,” he added.

Multiple Modes for a Variety of Scenarios
A DICOM SIM mode in the XEED WUX5000 makes it the perfect projector for medical-related imagery. Offering accurate grayscale renderings of X-rays and CT scans which is perfect for pre-surgery in-hospital briefings, medical-related lectures and scientific presentations.

For photography buffs, the XEED WUX5000 features two dedicated photographic imaging modes – “Vivid Photo” and “Photo/sRGB. “Vivid Photo” induces greater vibrancy in multi-colored images especially pale hues and whites, while “Photo/sRGB” is designed to faithfully reproduce the delicate color accents of the original source image even in well-lit settings.

Interchangeable and Motorized Lens Expansion Versatility
The convenience of a 360-degree installation orientation is complemented with a motorized lens shift function, which enables users to shift the projected image position vertically and horizontally to work around minor projector placement obstacles like pillars.

Simplified Maintenance
The XEED WUX5000 design is also hassle-free when it comes to maintenance. The lamp unit and air filter can be easily accessed from the back and side of the unit respectively, making replacements convenient even when the projector remains mounted on the ceiling.

Maintenance frequency is also significantly reduced thanks to the improved lamp operating life (Normal: 3,000 hours, Quiet: 3,000 hours) and the efficient cooling mechanism that cools the lamp and panel independently.

Multi-media connectivity
The XEED WUX5000 is compatible with a wide range of video and computer devices with industry standard digital and analog terminals. It supports high-definition video signal input including HDMI version 1.3, DVI-D and analog PC terminals, two audio inputs and one audio output for external amplifiers and speakers. There is also a built-in 5-watt speaker should there be any on-site limitations.

Pricing and Availability
The Canon XEED WUX5000 is now available in stores at the recommended retail price of RM27, 999.
