Telekom Malaysia Berhad’s (TM) High Speed Broadband (HSBB) service, UniFi, surpasses the 400,000 subscribers mark ahead of its year-end target. This milestone is even more significant when it was achieved in less than three months after UniFi subscriptions hit 300,000.
UniFi is currently available at 83 exchange areas covering more than 1.222 million premises, which includes; 63 areas in Klang Valley, 3 in Penang, 2 in Kedah, 9 in Johor, 2 in Melaka, 2 in Negeri Sembilan, 1 in Perak and the latest, 1 in Terengganu. TM is well on its way to meet the targeted 1.3 million premises passed by the end of 2012.
Dato’ Sri Zamzamzairani Mohd Isa, Group Chief Executive Officer, TM had this to say about the achievement, “We are very pleased indeed that our flagship service has reached more than 400,000 customers nationwide. The coverage area for UniFi is steadily expanding with Terengganu being the most recent addition to the list early this month. This proves that we are the nation’s No. 1 broadband provider. We would like to thank our family of more than 2 million broadband customers for their continued trust in us. This milestone also comes hot on the heels of recognition from Reader’s Digest 2012 Trusted Brands Awards as well as the 2012 Frost & Sullivan Asia Pacific ICT Fixed Broadband Provider of the Year Award.”
“Our UniFi service continues to receive overwhelming response, beating the set target 5 months ahead of schedule. This latest development augurs well for TM and we expect this momentum to continue. The service has also received continuous recognitions globally, the latest being when Informa Telecoms & Media stated that Malaysia surges ahead in the Asia Pacific National Broadband Network revolution with the roll-out of HSBB, beating Singapore and Australia. This is certainly befitting our commitment as Malaysia’s Broadband Champion with more and more customers placing their trust in us as we know broadband best. And my question to you is, are you UniFied yet?” added Dato’ Sri Zam.
