Intel Malaysia officially unveils Inaugural Corporate Responsibility Report 2011

Intel Employees celebrates the spirit of giving at Aidilfitri Festive Cheer Buka Puasa Banquet

KULIM, Aug. 10, 2012 – Intel Malaysia recently unveiled its 2011 Corporate Responsibility Report at the festive conclusion to the company’s Aidilfitri Festive Cheer 2012 programme. The inaugural Corporate Responsibility Report provides a deeper insight into Intel’s business ethics, guiding principles, commitment to the environment and supply chain responsibility - amongst other things – for the year ending December 31, 2011.

“Throughout Intel’s 40 years of operations in Malaysia, our commitment to corporate responsibility has been resolute. Intel has built its business on pushing the boundaries of innovation,creating products that have fundamentally changed the way people live and work whislt finding opportunities to apply our technology and expertise to help tackle some of the world’s greatest challenges—from climate change and water conservation to education quality and the digital divide.” said Lee Heng Gee, General Manager of Kulim Microprocessor and Chipset Operations (KMCO) at the launch of the Corporate Responsibility Report.Aidilfitri festive goodies being shared with the less fortunate.

“Our inaugural Corporate Responsibility Report captures all of the great work we have done throughout 2011 and it is our hope that this will inspire our employees to keep up the good work in the many years to come.” Lee added.

Intel Malaysia’s Aidilfitri Festive Cheer Program is one of Intel’s many corporate responsibility initiatives underscoring its commitment towards being a responsible corporate citizen and is now in its twelfth year running. This year, the Intel Involved volunteers managed to raise over RM23,000.00 in aid of nearly 500 individuals, including orphans and underprivileged school-children in Kedah and Penang after a successful two-week cash and in-kind donation drive.Intel managers handing out packets of duit raya.

The funds collected were used to purchase sets of baju raya (festive clothes) for the beneficiaries. In addition to that, Intel employees in Penang and Kulim distributed festive goodies to underprivileged communities within Penang and Kedah as an effort to help the less fortunate have a better and meaningful Aidilfitri celebration.

The District Officer (DO) of Kulim, En. Dzohir bin Md. Zain was also present at the buka puasa event to present baju raya and duit raya to 460 children from Rumah Anak Kesayangan, Rumah Kanak-Kanak Taman Bakti, Rumah Permata Kasih, Rumah Amal Kulim, Sri Nurul Hidayah P.Elang Kulim (SRINPEK)and Pertubuhan Bela Didik Anak-anak Yatim (Bedaya).
