IBBM Financial Services Industry (FSI) Careers 2012

Kuala Lumpur, 20 October, 2012 - Institute of Bankers Malaysia (IBBM) will be organising the IBBM
Financial Services Industry (FSI) Careers 2012 at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre on 20 October
2012. Being the only FSI-specialised career fair in Malaysia, it will feature financial institutions taking
up exhibition-cum-info booths not only to promote the career opportunities available, but also
shed light on the industry landscape, job areas and career path requirements. There will also be
concurrent FSI-related career talks by prominent corporate figures throughout the day.

“Competitiveness now relies on knowledge and innovation,” said Chief Executive Officer of IBBM Tay
Kay Luan, on the changing landscape of the financial services industry. With shorter product cycles
and increased competition, financial institutions are seeking talents who are hungry to learn and
apply their skills to generate new ideas and solutions.

In line with Talent Corporation Malaysia Berhad’s (TalentCorp) strategic thrust to Optimise
Malaysian Talent as set out in the Talent Roadmap 2020, financial institutions are cognisant of the
need for a paradigm shift in public perception of finance shared services and shared services as a
whole, which are often viewed as dull, routine and non-rewarding.

Consistent with our aim to raise career awareness among young talents and ensure they are well-
equipped to make informed decisions on career options aligned with industry needs, TalentCorp is
honoured to be the main sponsor of IBBM FSI Careers 2012. Apart from the career fair, TalentCorp
will embark on a series of initiatives to promote career awareness across all key sectors.

TalentCorp will also be featuring interesting career opportunities via newspapers articles, in addition
to forming partnerships with universities to organise sector-focused career fairs and launching the
Ready4Work portal by the end of the month. It is hoped these initiatives will contribute towards
greater awareness and interest among talents both young and old in the challenging, dynamic, and
high-income career opportunities now available in Malaysia.
