WeChat’s Cross-Platform Service Extends to BlackBerry with 1.0 Release

Kuala Lumpur, 21 January 2013 – WeChat’s growth rate has been phenomenal in hitting milestones in record time. It took WeChat only six months to go from 100 million to 200 million user accounts and has now hit its 300 million user accounts milestone in just four months. Now with over 300 million user accounts globally, WeChat is continuing its mission to providing a seamless communication service to users all over the world!

WeChat is proud to announce the expansion of its cross platform service to RIM’s BlackBerry, making it the FIRST and ONLY application available on all mobile platforms.

WeChat’s arrival on BlackBerry as the “new way to connect” begins with the 1.0 release as WeChat plans to firstly ensure that the application runs smoothly; providing BlackBerry users the best user experience before moving on to creating a full-featured application.

WeChat 1.0 offers its core features such as the basic instant messaging feature; allowing users to send and receive real-time messages across different mobile platforms including iPhone, Android, Symbian, and Windows.

Users can also opt for an alternative to effortless communication via WeChat’s voice messaging functions with the “Hold-To-Talk” feature – just a simple touch for voice message delivery without the need to type.
Another function BlackBerry WeChat users will receive for convenient communication is the Group Chat feature which allows you to chat with up to 40 friends at a time.

The Photo Sharing feature, also available on WeChat 1.0, allows you to snap photos and share them directly with your friends. Photos from your album can also be shared whether you are text messaging, voice messaging or group chatting.

With WeChat’s availability on BlackBerry, it aims to develop a robust communication platform allowing its users to communicate with their friends from multiple mobile platforms. 黑莓版微信的群聊功能可让用户在同一时间和40名联络人沟通联络。

黑莓微信1.0同样具备照片分享功能，让你随时随地捕捉珍贵时刻的照片并与朋友分享。相薄中的照片可以透过文字讯息、语音讯息或群聊分享。
