Samsung Teams Up with James Franco to Share His Non-Stop Holiday Season


The multi-tasking actor and photographer directs/stars in a new Samsung video and shares his party season and photography tips using the Samsung GALAXY Camera

SEOUL, South Korea– December 19, 2012- Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd, a global leader in digital media and digital convergence technologies, today announced that it will be reteaming with James Franco – Oscar-nominated actor, director, photographer, musician and poet - on a party season campaign for the new GALAXY Camera.

Sharing his own photography expertise, Franco will not only direct and star in a new video for the GALAXY Camera, but will use the device to give his fans a real-time insight into one of the busiest careers in Hollywood through his social networks and show fans how they can also achieve great pictures during the holiday season. This video will be the third time Franco and Samsung have collaborated this year, previous productions include, “Fact Checkers Unit” and “The Ultimate Multi-tasker,” a video for the GALAXY Note 10.1.

With acclaim as an actor, screenwriter, director and trend setter, James Franco also channels his energy into a host of other creative projects, including photography, creating a hectic schedule which demands a way of capturing and sharing his world in an instant. The need to shoot high quality images on-the-go creates a great opportunity to work with the GALAXY Camera.

The new GALAXY Camera is the first device to combine the connectivity of a smartphone through 3G/4G + Wi-Fi, the full capabilities of Android ™ 4.1 (Jelly Bean), including access to over 600,000 apps in Google Play, with the imaging quality of a high-end camera. From December 10, 2012 to February 10, 2013, Londoners and New Yorkers can upload images which show how much they love their respective cities to www.timeout.com/shareyournow. Five winners a week from each city will be chosen to receive a GALAXY Camera. In addition, three overall winners from each city will be given the chance to have their own image be on the cover of Time Out magazine, as well as a luxury holiday trip to the opposing city for two.
