Charged to continue Microsoft’s momentum as a trusted technology advisor for government, education, health and citizen services delivery
KUALA LUMPUR, 14 January 2013 – Microsoft has today announced the appointment of Mohd Azharuddin Mat Sah as the lead for its public sector division in Malaysia. In this role, Mohd Azharuddin will be focused on Microsoft Malaysia’s ongoing commitment to transforming Malaysia together with government, education, health and other public sector organizations as they move into a new era of citizen services by maximizing the capabilities of their technology investments, reduce overall costs, and boost productivity.
“I am honored to have the opportunity to join the Microsoft Malaysia family and look forward to making a positive impact as we collectively work towards transforming Malaysia together. Governments and public entities are increasingly being asked to do new things with less resources, which puts them on the front lines of using technology to drive innovation. Those new things also have to be better and more efficient as citizens and government employees expect increasingly higher levels of service. Government and public sector leaders need to drive both cost savings and innovation that will allow them to be well-positioned now, but also in the future, as technology, policy and expectations continue to change,” said Mohd Azharuddin before continuing, “It is an exciting and challenging time for government and the public sector, and I look forward to partnering with them to impact and improve the missions they commit to every day.”
“Mohd Azharuddin’s appointment as our Public Sector Lead fulfills a very important building block in our commitment to transform Malaysia together in education, businesses and for Malaysian lives, which has spanned over 20 years. With Microsoft’s experience and end-to-end approach, we can help the country’s leaders and institutions innovate and leverage technology on their own terms, through secure and flexible solutions and an array of partnerships and programs designed to address their specific aspirations, visions, needs and priorities,” said Carlos Lacerda, Managing Director, Microsoft Malaysia.
