PROGRAMME RAISED RM10,000 IN SUPPORT OF THE COMMUNITY AND ENVIRONMENT
KUALA LUMPUR, 25 APRIL 2013 – The Dyson Trade-in Programme concluded successfully when five charity homes were presented with cheques totalling RM10,000. The programme was launched to help the underprivileged as well as supporting the environment through a sustainable recycling programme of old vacuum cleaners and fans.
The first of its kind trade-in programme was launched nationwide to support two key community areas – to collect and recycle old vacuum cleaners and fans, and to provide a cleaner and healthier environment for community and animal homes. Customers who traded-in their old household equipments were given a 15% discount on a brand new Dyson vacuum cleaner or air multiplier.
During the launch of the programme, five charity homes – Rumah Hope, Rumah Orang-orang Tua Seri Setia, Asrama Cahaya and Taman Megah Handicapped and Disabled children’s Home and the SPCA – were presented with a Dyson vacuum cleaner each as part of their commitment to the community.
“We are glad to receive participation of the public and to be able to provide a better and cleaner environment through this programme for the underprivileged. Through the Dyson’s cyclone technology where dirt and dust particles are cleared with ease, we believe that this could provide a cleaner and better living and at the same time, create a sustainable environment”, said Mr. Ooi Kah Hin, Managing Director of Visionary Solutions Sdn Bhd.
The development of Dyson’s Cyclone technology uses cyclonic separation to effectively remove dust and other particles from the air stream. This enables better vacuum compared to other vacuum cleaners long after. Dyson’s Trade-in Programme signifies Dyson Malaysia’s commitment to the community as well as the sustainability through recycling of materials for a greener society.
