Samsung Unifies Best-in-Class Windows PCs Under Newly Expanded ATIV Brand

Leading the Windows PC market, ATIV to extend Samsung’s mobile innovation and user experience across all devices

SEOUL, Korea – May 9, 2013 – Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., a global leader in digital media and convergence technologies, announced it is expanding the ATIV brand to include its leading Windows® -based PCs. ATIV, previously the brand for the company’s Smart PC Windows-based hybrid devices, now represents the convergence of PC and mobile technologies and unites all of Samsung’s Windows PCs and devices under one cohesive brand. In tune with the needs and wants of today’s evolving consumers, the Samsung ATIV line offers a variety of market leading Windows PC devices designed to extend the mobile experience from their handset to laptop and vice versa, making work more seamless and life more convenient.

Flexibility and Convenience Across Devices

Along with this brand evolution, Samsung is introducing SideSync technology to all Windows-based PCs, the first of many new ATIV features available this year, which enables users to switch from working on their PC to an Android-based Samsung smartphone with simplicity and ease. With SideSync, users’ PC and mobile device become one. Consumers can use their PC keyboard to respond to a text on a mobile phone; view larger maps, photos and multimedia displayed on both devices to make editing files even easier; or use their PC to back up and charge their mobile device – allowing users to get back to the task at hand with less interruptions to work and everyday life.

Current products that will be renamed beginning April 29th include Samsung Notebooks (Series 9, Series 7 Chronos, Series 5 Chronos, Series 7 Ultra, Series 5 Ultra, Series 5 510, Series 3, 370, Series 3 300); Samsung ATIV Smart PC and Smart PC Pro; and Samsung All in One PC (Series 5, 7 and 3).
