Canon Acknowledged across the World as the Leading Brand for Photography and Imaging Products

Canon bags the prestigious Technical Image Press Association (TIPA) Awards, Reader’s Digest Trusted Brands Awards, Putra Brand Awards and Buyers Laboratory LLC (BLI) Awards 2013

Kuala Lumpur, 10 June 2013 – Continuing in its quest to deliver superb product innovations, Canon, a world leader in digital imaging, completed the first half of 2013 with flying colours and acknowledged the world over for its marvels.

Canon bagged five accolades for this year’s “Best Photo and Imaging Product” awards by the Technical Image Press Association (TIPA) which represents 28 photography and imaging magazines from 15 countries across five continents. The five award-winning products are the EOS 6D DSLR camera (Best DSLR Expert in 2013), the EOS 100D DSLR camera (Best DSLR Entry Level in 2013), the EOS-1D C DSLR cinema camera (Best Video DSLR in 2013), the EF24-70mm f/2.8L II USM interchangeable lens (Best Professional DSLR Lens in 2013), and the PIXMA PRO-10 inkjet printer (Best Expert Photo Printer in 2013). This marks the brand’s 19th consecutive year as recipient of the TIPA award.

Closer to home, Canon received the Platinum award in the categories of Camera and Multi-Function Printer/Copier at the Reader’s Digest Trusted Brand Awards 2013. Canon has won the Reader’s Digest Trusted Brand Awards for the 15th year running which seals Canon’s position as the most preferred brand among Malaysian consumers.

At the 2013 Putra Brand Awards, Canon received a Gold medal for the ‘Camera’ category and a Bronze medal for the ‘IT and Office & Business Equipment’ category. The Putra Brand Awards is an initiative by the Association of Accredited Advertising Agents Malaysia (4As) to recognize local and international brands that are near and dear to the hearts of Malaysians.

In addition, the Buyers Laboratory LLC (BLI), the leading independent evaluator of document imaging products and solutions awarded Canon with accolades.  Multi-Function Devices (MFD), the imageRUNNER 6075, imageRUNNER ADVANCE 4051, imageRUNNER ADVANCE 4025, imageRUNNER C2030/C2030H and the imageCLASS LBP6680x printer received the “Outstanding Achievement Awards.”

These models have been tested to consume less energy than their respective competitors while undergoing BLI’s real-world environmental job stream test. The units’ estimated energy consumption ranged from 42% to as much as 66% lower than their respective competitor averages.

Canon’s imageRUNNER ADVANCE C2020H, imageRUNNER ADVANCE 4025, imageRUNNER ADVANCE C2030/C2030H, imageRUNNER ADVANCE C5035i, imageRUNNER 3245N, imageRUNNER ADVANCE 4051, imageRUNNER ADVANCE C5255, imageRUNNER ADVANCE C5051 and imageRUNNER ADVANCE 6075 have been recognized by BLI for outstanding environmental performance with the first-ever Line of the Year award for energy efficiency.

Furthermore, the Canon colour management tool SU-21 spectrophotometer won the “Outstanding Achievement Award for Innovation”. It is currently available as an optional add-on for the imagePROGRAF iPF6450 and helps businesses achieve exceptional steady colour consistency across a fleet of devices.
