ACASIA LAUNCHES GLOBAL DATA CENTRE

ACASIA Communications Sdn Bhd (ACASIA), an alliance of ASEAN telecommunications players recently launched its Global Data Centre in conjunction with CommunicAsia 2013; the annual International Communications and Information Technology Exhibition held in Singapore.

The inauguration of ACASIA’s Global Data Centre was made official in a signing ceremony between all seven (7) partners – CAT Telecom Public Company Limited (CAT) Thailand, PT Indosat Tbk (INDOSAT) Indonesia, Philippines Long Distance Telephone Company (PLDT), Singapore Telecommunications Limited (SingTel), Telekom Brunei Berhad (TELBRU), Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) and Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT).

Eric Alberto, Chairman of ACASIA, said, “ACASIA Global Data Centre is an amalgamation of data centres from the seven telcos which are partners of ACASIA. These data centres not only offer co-location services but also core network services and other value-added services such as Disaster Recovery, Managed Hosting Services and Cloud Computing, leveraging on ACASIA Partners’ industry leading extensive network and infrastructure ecosystem.”

ACASIA initially offers 33 data centres that not only cover ASEAN countries – Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines, Singapore, Brunei, Malaysia, Vietnam, but also covers Hong Kong and Australia. With over 300,000 square feet of floor space and expanding, ACASIA’s Global Data Centre brings to its customers the largest single integrated data centre via ACASIA managed network through ACASIA’s one-stop-shop facility.
