Oracle Unveiled New In-Memory Capabilities during Oracle OpenWorld 2014

New Database In-Memory Option Accelerates Analytics, Data Warehousing, Reporting and OLTP for Oracle In-Memory Applications

KUALA LUMPUR, 25 SEPTEMBER 2013 – Oracle Corporation (NASDAQ:ORCL) kicked off its annual conference, Oracle OpenWorld 2014, in San Francisco, US with tens of thousands of participants from across the country and around the world gathered for an intense five days of learning and networking sessions from 22 -26 September 2013.  

During Oracle OpenWorld 2014 , Oracle launched its enhanced In-Memory Applications with the new Oracle Database In-Memory option for Oracle Database 12c, which helps customers accelerate database performance for analytics, data warehousing, reporting and online transaction processing (OLTP).

Steve Miranda, Oracle Executive Vice President of Application Development said, “Oracle continues to demonstrate its commitment to innovation that produces business results and value for Oracle Applications running on Oracle Engineered Systems and the new Oracle Database In-Memory option for Oracle Database 12c.”

Oracle shared the new unique in-memory optimizations enable real-time ad-hoc analytics on live transactional data. Every application that runs on Oracle Database 12c can automatically and transparently take advantage of Oracle Database In-Memory option.

Oracle’s JD Edwards EnterpriseOne

Oracle’s PeopleSoft
Oracle’s PeopleSoft In-Memory Project Discovery to help customers avoid project failures by proactively providing visibility into projects and resources. This Oracle In-Memory Application unites structured and unstructured data to help provide a full picture of project operations and help customers gain a competitive advantage.

Oracle Value Chain Planning
Oracle also introduced two new Oracle Value Chain Planning In-Memory Applications to help organizations address the challenges, such as increasing demand volatility, more complex supply chains and exploding data volumes, to plan their supply chains effectively and meet their customers’ needs.

The other two applications that are taking advantage of Oracle In-Memory Option are including Oracle E-Business Suite and Oracle Transportation Management.
