Year-end sale starts at PC Expo 2013 KL this Friday

PC Expo 2013 KL starts Nov 1 at Mid Valley Exhibition Centre, Kuala Lumpur with year-end sales of smartphones, smartwatches & more

Wednesday, October 30, 2013, KUALA LUMPUR – The year-end PC Expo 2013 starts this Friday at Mid Valley Exhibition Centre in Kuala Lumpur. Shoppers can take advantage of year-end offers and bargains at the three-day Expo, which features more than 100 brands and 60 exhibitors, with an emphasis on smartwatches, smartphones, tablet devices and mobile computing accessories like branded notebook backpacks, premium tablet cases, foldable wireless keyboards, smartphone covers and powerbanks.

Exhibitors include Samsung Malaysia Electronics Sdn Bhd (Booth 113), Western Digital (M) Sdn Bhd (Booth 109), Lenovo Technology Sdn Bhd (Booth 108), Hewlett-Packard (M) Sdn Bhd (Booth 105) and many more. According EM Exhibitions (M) Sdn Bhd project director Jeslynn Wong Lee Chen, the year-end edition of PC Expo 2013 in Kuala Lumpur is expected to welcome about 180,000 visitors. “Shoppers at the Expo this week can expect lots of year-end deals for smartwatches, smartphones, tablets and lots of mobile computing accessories like premium leather backpacks, carry cases and more.”

She expects consumer interest will be stirred by smartwatches like the much-talked about Samsung Galaxy Gear Smartwatch and its corresponding bundling offers. The idea of a smartwatch is still very much a novelty among local digital lifestyle enthusiasts, she said. As such, the Expo this weekend will be an ideal platform to gauge initial response.

“The local smartwatch market is virtually in its infancy and there’s lots of ground to cover. Which will consumers prefer? Will it be standalone smartwatches that operates independently without a smartphone but technically superior and priced higher? Or will it be smartwatches that are positioned as a smartphone accessory, dependent on the smartphone and equipped with less features but priced affordably?”

Though it’s too early to tell at this point, Wong expects consumers to decide with their wallet by PC Expo 2014 next March. “We think consumers will tread cautiously, especially given recent rises in the cost of living and continued consumer inclination to prefer value-for-money smartphones. However, we like the idea of the Dick Tracy-like smartwatch so much that we’re rewarding the lucky winner of our popular activity, “Register & Win”, with a delightfully new Samsung Galaxy Gear Smartwatch.”

Other prominent activities such as “Like, Share and Tag” features a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and “Lucky Draw” an Apple iPhone 5C and Apple iPhone 5S respectively as the main prizes. “We’re also featuring both new Apple iPhones at our RM1 Auction. This will surely be interesting to many consumers,” she added.

There are also a slew of year-end offers at the Expo including Thunder Match Technology Sdn Bhd’s (Booth 104) early bird offer for the 10.6-inch Microsoft Surface RT 32GB at RM 999 (SRP RM1,099), Aone Plus Supplies & Services Sdn Bhd’s (Booth 115) `Buy 1-Free 1’ offer of a Hibiki HC 902 Earphone-Chat headset at RM29.90 with a BPM headset, Aeco Technologies Sdn Bhd’s (Booth 228) offer for a Trywin Car Video Recorder TD6 for RM499 and Lenovo Technology Sdn Bhd’s (Booth 108) introductory deal for its Lenovo C440 All-In-One desktop of RM 2,199 bundled with 3-years on-site warranty.
