Schneider Electric Announces Solutions for Asia’s Volatile IT Environment

Growing Energy Costs are a Critical Consideration for Enterprises

Kuala Lumpur – 14 November, 2013 – Schneider Electric, a global leader in energy management, last Thursday evening at the Frost & Sullivan Best Practices Awards Gala Event, shared insights into the increasingly dynamic IT environment and the critical need to embrace energy management as part of the IT strategy. The event saw the specialist take home the 2013 Southeast Asia ‘UPS Vendor of the Year’ and ‘UPS Service Provider of the Year’ awards for the second consecutive year.

Schneider Electric, has a legacy of being acknowledged for its customer-oriented support and innovative product and service offerings. During the exclusive industry event, Schneider Electric’s IT Business executives Philippe Arsonneau, Senior Vice President of Asia Pacific and Japan and Pankaj Sharma, Vice President of East Asia, recognised the dynamic nature of the current IT environment. Due to rapidly evolving trends like digitisation and Big Data, in conjunction with on-going issues including the energy dilemma, these trends are driving demand for skilled talent in critical industries and the need for more efficient IT technology and procedures.

Pankaj addressed this further saying, “The IT industry is currently under strain and there is an increasing focus for our customers on the growing energy costs to run their operations. Schneider Electric understands that making the right investments in the data centre can help these customers attain the greatest cost and power savings. As a result, we have made it our priority to enable them to streamline their workflow processes via end-to-end customer support and guidance on the latest energy management solutions. These solutions include data centre infrastructure management (DCIM) and ‘all-in-one’ management software tools which can achieve enterprise-wide savings of up to 30 per cent.”

The news was presented at The St. Regis Hotel, Singapore which hosted the annual best practice awards ceremony, acknowledging Schneider Electric’s continuing efforts in leading market share and demonstrating innovative approaches.

Based on performance and excellence, the notable ‘UPS Vendor of the Year’ award is presented to a standout organisation that has demonstrated the highest level of achievement in its respective market. The ‘Service Provider of the Year’ award lauds an organisation’s leadership in service support infrastructure and customer value. The winners were chosen by Frost & Sullivan analysts based on a set of criteria comprising market penetration, leadership in customer value, growth strategy and implementation, in addition to product and service innovation.

Philippe Arsonneau, Senior Vice President for Schneider Electric’s APJ IT Business Unit took to the stage to express gratitude to Frost & Sullivan for the honour of recognition.
