AMD Appoints David Bennett as Asia Pacific-Japan Region Lead

MALAYSIA, Kuala Lumpur ─ Dec. 5, 2013 ─ AMD (NYSE: AMD) today announced that David Bennett has been appointed corporate vice president of its Asia Pacific-Japan (APJ) Mega Region, reporting to senior vice president and chief sales officer John Byrne. In this role, Bennett will be responsible for leading AMD’s operations and sales efforts across the region in countries including Australia, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.

Bennett has been with AMD for more than six years, holding a number of key global sales roles. Most recently, he led AMD’s growth in client, server and embedded platforms as worldwide sales director for the HP account and was instrumental to winning the single largest commercial client tender in the company’s history. Earlier, Bennett served as leader for AMD’s Canadian Consumer Retail business from 2010 to 2012, where he strengthened key customer relationships and helped AMD secure a dominant market share position in the consumer space.

Fluent in Japanese with an understanding of Korean and written Chinese, Bennett is very familiar with the APJ region. Earlier in his career, Bennett worked for a Ministry of Education program run by the Japanese Government and as a consultant for en world Japan (formerly: Wall Street Associates K.K.), before joining AMD in the region as business development manager.
