TM CROWNED WITH THE BEST OF THE BEST AWARD - TELECOM SERVICE PROVIDER OF THE YEAR FOR THE 3RD TIME!

Malaysia’s Broadband Champion swept up six awards at the 2014 Frost & Sullivan Malaysia Excellence Awards…

Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) further strengthened its position as Malaysia’s Broadband Champion and the nation’s leading New Generation Communications Provider when the Company was crowned The Best of the Best Award, Telecom Service Provider of the Year at the recent 2014 Frost & Sullivan Malaysia Excellence Awards held in Johor Bahru. This is the third time TM being recognised with the accolade at the prestigious award ceremony.

The night also saw TM Group as the big winner when it bagged five (5) other awards namely Broadband Service Provider of the Year for the 8th time, Data Communications Service Provider of the Year for the tenth consecutive year, Telecommunication Wholesale Service Provider of the Year  for the first time, as well as Managed Service Provider of the Year for the 5th time and the inaugural category of BPO Service Provider of the Year, which was won by its subsidiary, VADS Berhad (VADS), Malaysia’s leading Integrated Managed Information & Communications Technology (ICT)/Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) Service Provider.

Present to accept the awards on behalf of the Company were Datuk Bazlan Osman, Executive Director / Group Chief Financial Officer, TM; Rozaimy Rahman, Executive Vice President, Global & Wholesale, TM; Azhar Omar, State Vice President, TM Johor; Fermin Fautsch, Vice President, ICT Services, VADS; and Datin Mohana Maharif, Vice President, BPO, VADS.

Commenting on the win, Datuk Bazlan said, “We are indeed very honoured and proud to once again be recognised as the Telecom Service Provider of the Year, for the 3rd time! 2013 was yet another incredible year for TM, not only in terms of performance, but more meaningfully in terms of the continued support and commitment we receive from our customers, our people - who have worked tirelessly to elevate the Company to where it is now - and indeed all our stakeholders, on our ongoing journey of transformation. This award is dedicated to all of you. He continued, “We would like to thank the organiser as well as the panel of judges for recognising our achievements in the Malaysian telecommunications sector. We are honoured to have been given the opportunity to prove ourselves as a trusted partner in national development time and again, most recently having delivered with global acclaim on the HSBB Public Private Partnership (PPP), as well as the expansion of Malaysia’s regional connectivity via our extensive network of submarine cables and global points of presence,” explained Datuk Bazlan.

Celebrating its 10th Anniversary, the 2014 Frost & Sullivan Malaysia Excellence Awards recognises companies that have pushed the boundaries of excellence – rising above the competition and demonstrating outstanding performance in Malaysia. The award recipients were evaluated on a variety of actual market performance indicators such as revenue growth, market share, growth in market share, subscriber base  and growth in subscriber base, market leadership in new product introduction and innovation, major customer acquisitions, breadth of products and solutions as well as business/market strategy for the financial year of 2013.
